VSC contacted my congressman

Hello VJ,

I contacted my congressman's office regarding the delay on K1 approvals at VSC. The answer she received is that they are currently processing May 28 applications. I explained that was the processing date as of Oct 30 as per their website. She told me that they don't lie about these things and they process them in order. I told her that I'm part of a forum and I know others that got approved that are after my NOA1 date of June 4. She responded that if I could get names and case IDs (after June 4) then she would ask USCIS to explain why others are approved but I'm not. I understand that others may not be comfortable sharing their info. I'm kind of upset at my congressman at this point... Since their representative said they believe USCIS over me, a registered voter. I will remember this next election.

I thought about just checking case IDs after mine and sending without names... Not sure if she will accept that though? Any thoughts? Should I drop this witch hunt or see if anyone is willing to send the info?

Thanks for suggestions!

You can continue the witch hunt all day, but I fail to see what is so mystifying about the fact that they were processing a lot of the early May applicants in early November (as they did mine). It is a little over a month later and they are are working on early June applicants.

I think you just need to wait a little while and start getting uppity at the 7 month point. :luv:

I'd wait another month before doing anything. I went through all this with VSC back in 2008. I got my NOA2 right at 6 months while all the processing times were showing 5 months. I know it's frustrating.

Mine was approved in almost 7 months time frame at the VSC - and it was accepted in early May. You should have an update very shortly. California Service Center seemed to be moving a little quicker. Did you sign up for email and text alerts on the USCIS website.

Do a service request.

Hi FB14, apparently the system will not allow a service request until the posted processing date is after the NOA1 date. I don't know if this is a recent change or...

I shouldn't be penalized because USCIS doesn't update their website...

Well it's the government and my congressman is also government... Guess I shouldn't trust either of them.

I also put in a request with my senator's office... I'm a supporter of my senator so I really hope he doesn't drink the same coolaid. Lol.

Hi Jackie, yep signed up in June. :)

Ah... 7 months... I thought VSC had sped up some... Maybe not... I just want to hear by Christmas

Hi Nola,

Good point. I don't understand why the website shows they were working on end of May applications at the end of October? Maybe their stats are screwed up.

I was in your situation, 8 months before I got an approval, contacted my congressman and they kept making excuses for the USCIS and then I contacted my senator and got some results. Hang in there, Military gets first approval considerations as well it should be. I also learn that some of the USCIS employees work from home and could be taking a box of files home for approval, if yours is in this stack it could be awhile before you hear anything or until they finish with the box and return the files and update the USCIS files. You should not have too much longer to wait and I wish you luck in your journey.

Heard back from my senators office. It was pulled yesterday for review by adjunctor. Sounds like they didnt touch it prior to this. He said to allow them a week. If no word, he will call them again. Heck yeah. I will remember this Johnny, next election. ;)
