East coast woodlands are kinda nice. My place is covered with 100 ft Douglas firs, and there are plenty of larger redwoods in the area, along with assorted oak, bay, maple, plum, and madrone trees. Really? My first-hand encounters with left coast lib types is usually through the left coast software vendors who send their long haired but otherwise quite brilliant employees over to present us with the latest and greatest new thing that we absolutely MUST MUST MUST buy NOW. Maybe they are not the hippies you speak of, because these guys (they're all guys) will get right up in your face about the slightest thing. At a customer site, no less! Once my manager made a disparaging remark about the English skills of a certain tech guy (who works for us) of Chinese origin, and mr long haired freak from Kali snaps back, so how's your Mandarin?
