Hello,

I recently got married to my fiance (US citizen) I have been dating for 3 years now and would like to apply for an adjustment of status since I am in the US already. I am from Europe. I am quite confused about what all I need to send together with my forms. Is there a checklist available anywhere?

I will be sending:

Marriage licence

I-130

I-485

I-693

I-765

I-864

G-325 (a) Which one?

1 Copy of passport (Need more?)

Passport photos (How many?)

Copy and translation of Birth certificate (How many?)

Copy of my husband's passport and birth certificate (do I need to send that?)

What else am I missing? I read that we should include something to prove that we have been dating. What can I include in an envelope? A DVD with pictures or something?

I really appreciate all your help! Thank you!

Once you've read the guides if you have any extra questions feel free to update your post here :)

Side note: do not send a DVD, if you are sending pictures print them, label and date them.

Be sure to send a copy of your marriage certificate, not a marriage license. A license is a document that shows you're allowed to do something (in this case, get married), while the certificate shows that you ARE married.

Good luck!

In some states (e.g. California) the marriage license becomes the marriage certificate once it is endorsed by the officiant.

That is also the case in Texas, and many other states.

Is marriage licence actually needed ?

No, only a certified copy of the marriage certificate, which could well be the endorsed marriage license depending on which state you got married in.
