Philippine NSO e-Census Documents

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but thought it might be of interest to those needing official Philippine NSO documentation for applications and interviews.

I was married in the Philippines in late April and departed for home two days later. There was no time to have the local registrar process the marriage certificate to provide me with a certified document. My asawa saw to it that the LCRO completed the processing and then she mailed me certified copies of the local certificate to submit with the I-130 petition. I knew that later on I will need the official NSO marriage certificate, so I asked my asawa to do what she could there to get the real NSO version. I also submitted an electronic request through the NSO e-Census website on May 19 and paid the $20 each (for three copies). My sweetie received official NSO certificates some time back now and I've since received it from her and submitted that with my DS230.

Welp, guess what? Today my official NSO marriage certificates arrived via certified mail!!! I was certain that I'd never see them, but here there are. FYI...it really does work, but one must be very very patient. I don't need them anymore, so in the file they go. I'll probably send two of them back to my asawa to be sure she has enough for her interview and CFO early next year.

  • 4 weeks later...

That's interesting Michael.

I applied twice at Ecensus website for our MC and both times it came up negative there. Did it come up negative at their site for you as well..... but still got the certificates?

We had to finally get one through Local Civil Reg.

Thanks,

Mike

Congrats  Sounds like you hit the jackpot. We had to renew Claudeth's passport here in L.A. and that really had us spinning. It took two trips to the Filipino Embassy and several hours and many trips to the copier before we finally got it all straightened out.

Good luck with the rest of your petition, I hope all goes a well as your initial venture.

I submitted the I-130 petition using a certified LCRO copy of the MC. Since I had to leave the day after our wedding, I was not able to get a copy right away. My sweetie finally got the LCRO copy and mailed it to me. That's why I couldn't submit the I-130 until 6 weeks after the big day. Since I was not sure if she was going to be able to get the real NSO MC, I requested the E-census copies in late May. About a month later I received a registered letter from E-census and inside was official looking NSO documents stating that there was no record of the marriage. I thought...wow I paid $60 for this??? So, I emailed asking if this really was what I was going to get for the money I paid? I got a response stating that I would receive the real MC when it was authenticated. I was very surprised to receive the requested three copies of the MC earlier this month. Anyway, my sweetie did get copies of the NSO MC herself. I submitted that with the I-129F after the I-130 NOA1 was received. I'm sending two copies to her.
