Hi Folks !

Recently i went for AOS interview and it went well without any issues. We answered all questions properly,

we really had more than sufficient evidences, photos, required docs. Still, we got this damn 'Further Review'

letter as IO mentioned he needs to see supervisor before making any decision.

Now its been over a week. and we have not heard anything from them. Don't know what to do?

Believe me waiting/uncertainity at this stage is worst of all process.

If anyone out there has similar experience (or know what exactly does that mean) of 'Further Review', please share to help me and all going thru this :innocent:

There is no time limit for a decision even after an interview, however a lot of people usually receive an approval or denial within 30 days of their interview.

So, there could be only two outcome of this:

approval or denial ?

What could be reason behind this delay? I don't think just to consult one's supervisor can take this long

Other people who got 'further review', please jump in here

They could issue an RFE instead of a straight approval or denial. RFEs can be issued at any point even post-interview.

Reasons for the delay of any decision could include: the interviewing IO does not have the requisite authority to approve you and so they have to get the approval of their supervisor; they need to check on a point of law with regards to your case; your name check is taking longer than usual.

There can be other reasons, but these are three of the big ones.

Thanks Hypnos !

May be you are right.

I have age diff with wife but IO never pointed out that. We were previously married.

I had sent HUGE documents, evidences, photos etc along with application itself as we are already living together for over 2 years. IO himself mentioned that you've submitted more that enough fnancial documents and bonafides evidences and i won't ask you more.

I already got EAD so i think name check has been done(i read that one gets EAD only after FBI/Name check)

Am i right?

But i think we can check if its struck at security check?

@GreenTrain: Sorry to hear that you're still struggling with this. Now that I know a bit more, I think maybe they really review your case as both of you guys were married before. It is not a proof for denial at all, but they do take people a bit more cautiously who were married before. But that's just what I have read here on this website. Good luck! I hope you'll hear your APPROVAL soon!

2nd interview is always an option (Stokes likely) but in this case seems it should not be an issue.

IO handed me "further review" letter. She said she needed to talk with her supervisor for the decision and if we do not receive any update within 3 weeks, i should go to inforpass.

two days later, i received REF, and they asked me to fill in a form and return it to them... This form is not related to our marriage, it is related to my visa. The strange thing is I submitted that form with I-485 together, but it seems they overlooked. anyway, I immediately re-submitted the form and went inforpass after 3 weeks from interview to make sure nothing wrong.

Didn't your IO give timeline? After you wait, but nothing happen, it is better to go inforpass.
