Thinking Ahead...

Hello, I have not yet been approved for the K1 but my fiancee is filling out the packet 3. I'm getting very concerned about the AOS/I864. I am a medical student, and had really hard time finding a cosponsor for the K1. I'm thinking that the I864 is going to be impossible. Can you guys give me some advice?

1. I read that the I864 can be based on assets. Since its only my fiancee and I, I'm assuming we would need to show 16,000 x 3 in assets? I'm thinking I can convince someone to transfer the assets to me for the AOS - Is that possible to do??? I also have debt from student loans - will that count against us?

2. If I were to get a part time job while in school would I have to make the whole 16,000 a year? For example, if I made 8,000 then would my cosponsor only be responsible for $8,000 a year, but I would be legally responsible for my fiancee. I think I read somewhere that the sponsor must make the whole 16,000 but not sure...

3. Even if I were, at this point, to quit school and get a job would we be able to successfully apply for AOS if I have been working under a year?

4. If I really can't find a cosponsor, can I bring my fiancee here, get married within 90 days, and wait 3 years until I start working to file the AOS?

I'm thinking of worst case senarios here...

ANY other advice from students in particular? Has anyone successfully pleaded their case without meeting the income requirments? My loans are more than enough for us to live comfortably until my fiancee can start working, medical students very rarely default on loans, and I'm almost guarenteed a solid income when I start working.

Any advice is appreicated...but please no criticism. Right now my options seem to be 3 more years without my fiancee or giving up an opportunity I have worked my whole life for, neither of which is very appealing
