question about joint sponsor

Hi vj members, i went to my interview and the consular officer ask for a joint sponsor. now i am confused.exept for form I-864 i really dont know what others papers my joint sponsor must sent to the embassy. to save time i would like to have my joint sponsor to fill the form i-864 get a public notary to certifiy and just send me the scan copy. by doing this, is that going to be accepted by consular officer. please any one with pass experience should help me. thank in advance

you don't need to certify the i864, also need documents, 3 years of taxes, proof of ciitizenship or legal residency, employment letter, payment stubs. the person will have to mail it with the documents.

An I864A is needed from joint sponsor (if joint sponsor has same address as you) If joint sponsor lives at a differ address then he/she will submit borh I864 and I864A. Joint sposor will also give most recent tax return, W2 forms. Also a letter from employer that says his/her job title with pay will be a good addition.

If joint sponsor is married and is going to combine his/her spouse income to sponsor then the spouse must also submit I864A
