Hello!

One question on (hopefully) small problem...

My wife (in the USA) mailed my DS-230 packet on Nov. 26th by express post service, and hers AOS packet the next day.

Today, we received an e-mail from NVC reqesting the missing AOS formular.

The pdf from NVC has three pages: on first page they say that something is missing and details follow on next pages:

____________________________________________________________________

December 12, 2012

NVC Case Number: XXXXXXXXXXXX

Dear XXXX YYYYY: // <- Here is my wife's name

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documentswhich are indicated as missing or need additional information. You must submit the required information......

____________________________________________________________________

The second page is bar-code cover sheet, and on the third page it says:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: xxxx, yyyy // <- here is my name (beneficiary)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still

waiting for the Affidavit of Support form. Please submit the Affidavit of Support form according to the

instructions on the Department of State website at the following address:

www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov.

From there, you can fill out an Affidavit of Support form online, then print the completed form and mail

it to NVC.

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this

letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar

code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the

address provided.

As I said, we already mailed AOS package, and it reached NVIC few days after DS-230, and it is now unclear what are we about to do?

When they say "Affidavit of Support form" do they think on the form only (I-864EZ form), or on the whole AOS package?

Did they receive AOS package or not at all? (Acc. to the sentence: "We have reviewed the documents which you submitted..." it looks like they did, but then, what are they asking for when AOS package is complete?)

Is there any phone operator we can speak to, or we have to assembly and mail the AOS package once more?

Thanks

^^

That has all been done, except that my wife sent her AOS package one day after she had sent my IV package.

However, both packages reached NVIC long time ago (more than 12 days ago I think).

I think whoever reviewed our case must have both of the packages in his hands by know.

We followed official guides and suggestions from this site and wiki pages and tripple checked everything and as far as we know, both packages are 100% complete.

I just don't understend what's going on now?!

What are they actually asking for: whole AOS package or just the Affidavit of Suppport form (I-864EZ) from the AOS package?

Newest UPDATE:

My wife called NVIC on the phone few minutes ago.

They confirmed they have actually received the AOS package and that they need 20 more days from now on to review it.

They also said that we can ignore the email they sent us yesterdey :)

So, another three weeks lost on nothing... and maybe more considered that Christmas and New Year hollidays are knocking on the door.

Well, at least we didn't need to assembly and send the whole package once again.

Greetings to all!

Grats, this is what we call a false checklist here on VJ! And it means GOOD news! It's a great indicator that your IV package was reviewed and accepted!

What NVC does is, once they start reviewing a package, they send out a checklist for the other package, without checking if it's even in the building. Because of this, it gives quite a lot of people a scare. But in reality, it's nothing to worry about. Actually, it's something to celebrate.

Affidavit of Support should pay and print out bar code cover page on top of your AOS application and along with tax transcripts and most recent pay tubs and it should be sent in before DS-230 package

This is completely wrong. It does NOT matter whatsoever which package is sent first. The AOS and IV are two separate tracks at NVC that have nothing to do with one another, just that both need to be done before the case is complete.
