Hello!

I was searching for similar situations, but didn't find any. My fiance has lost his job right after i've received K-1 visa. of course, we are both upset and have postponed my coming to States. so the question is : what should we do? may this thing happened to us hurt my coming there? fiance keeps telling me i can be denied at POE because of his unemploymence. is it true? or he has to have job and incomes only for applying AOS for me? i want to calm down him and myself, but can't find any information about that.

He'll need a cosponsor to adjust status most likely. I don't think you can be turned away because he is unemployed. Many unemployed people and students petition their fiancées with a co-sponsor and it rarely a problem.

You can come to US. You will not be denied entry at your POE because your fiancee is jobless at the moment.

But he will have to find a new job SOON... for your everyday living expenses, your upcoming wedding and AOS.

You an come to the states just fine. You won't be denied at POE. However you won't be able to file for AOS without a co sponsor or you could also wait till he gets a job and has proof of steady income and file on your own with him as your sponsor. There is no certain time limit for you to file for AOS after you come to the states, so don't worry

Thank you so much for answers, it's such a relief that at least I am able to come to my sweetheart)))of course, we will wait for his last interviews results before I'll fly to US, to be sure he can support both of us until I'll be able to work.

We will be fine, I'm sure, but that is such a nightmare right now.

Yep, what they said. Don't wait more than 6 months unless you contact the Embassy to have your K-1 visa extended. If it becomes invalid before you use it, you'll have to repeat the entire process all over again with similar waiting times.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
