They were nice before I converted. Just respectful people over there, you have your bad apples, but that's everywhere. I hate it when people group us together like that.

Yep my family is christian, so I have to contend with both sides of the fence. I will say that my mother, who is a die hard christian handled herself great in Malaysia, she made some good friends and everyone got along well.

Yep, it's the reason my wife won't wear her hijab here. And she gets nervous when I talk about being a muslim with someone, she doesn't know how they will react.

You have to be careful wearing a hijab in the US. You never know when your going to get sentenced to three years in prison for it, or even worse beat to death like some Copts in Egypt. Americans can be brutal at times, especially their courts. Why I just read the other day where a Muslim was sentenced to three years in prison by US courts for playing a film about Jesus that the US courts deemed anti Christian.

***Update I just read where some Islamic countries including most of the MENA countries took in millions of Christian refugee's from poor under developed Christian countries. Cairo Egypt is now the new Dearborn Michigan. They are building Christian churches every where in Cairo now. The Christians get welfare benefits up the ying yang along with special access to Small Business Loans and breaks on tuition for college. You can't get a cab in Cairo that's not operated by a Christian driver from some under developed Christian country. And they are now making special laws to protect those Christians from hate crimes.

I think you are joking... Everyone knows that the Vatican has made available millions of Euros, through the Vatican Bank - owned and operated by the church - to help all these christians who are in need or in peril. We all know their church would not abandon them and would be certain to intervene and help them financially.

Which begs the question as to why does the Vatican need a bank and where does/did the money come from?

It is really a miracle of ROI, come to think of it. You start a business with a peasant and a cross, and on the other side of two millennia you end up with a multi-billion tax-free corporation...

Shirley, you jest!. Why would these christians be considered for welfare when we all know full well the Vatican mission to MENA ensures they want for nothing. Didn't they make millions available through the branches of the Banca Vaticana strategically located in poor countries? You can't possibly be suggesting they only have branches in rich places as though the church were in it for the money....

he is foolish indeed and deserve the punishment. he is not in USA with his freedom of speech. you have to respect your surroundings. he is quite lucky its only 3yrs.

Maybe foolish, but all men (no matter where they are) are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. Free speech being one of them. Whether other countries recognize this innate right is irrelevant.
