Travel Waiver, I-131--Flight Imminent

Hello everyone. My wife is waiting for approval on the I-131 travel waiver for a flight in mid-January. We sent the request with the AOS paperwork last month. Do you think there's any chance of a response on the travel document by January? Would it make sense to send the Chicago office that handles AOS stuff a copy of the plane ticket? I probably should have done that with the I-131. Is the office contactable on things like this, or you just out of the loop until they contact you? Many thanks for your help.

No it doesn't make sense to send a copy of the ticket, it most likely wouldn't match up with her file.

You can call the 1-800 number and ask for the status but they won't be able to tell you much outside of "it's being processed".

You could try making an infopass and asking for an expedite but unless it's on emergency grounds it's not likely to be approved.

It typically takes 60-90 days to get EAD and AP approval.
