The only holiday where I have seen most businesses closed besides Chinese restaurants and Denny's is Christmas Day.. most other holidays most stores are open usually with limited hours..

Under current laws, the Bush era tax cuts are set to expire as designed by Congress and President Bush in 2002.

Obama wants the tax rates to go up without any spending cuts. Boehner wants tax rates to go down and cut spending. Isn't there a middle ground anymore??????? Wouldn't it be prudent to raise taxes on those who benefit most from the tax code? Wouldn't it be prudent to cut back on your spending when you are borrowing money to make ends meet?

What happened to the rest of us in the middle??? Why accept two extreme sides??????

When I negotiate a deal, I try to cut it somewhere in middle. Why can't the Democrats and Republicans find a middle? Why must all of us suffer to protect the extreme elements in both parties??????

That's right. On Thanksgiving most everything used to be closed, too. But that's soon going to be a thing of the past as well. Christmas is next. Nothing is as important as shopping. Welcome to the most religious developed country where nothing is holy.
