OT: Fun place to eat in Toronto

Hey gang! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a fun place to eat in Toronto. After looking at the website for La Milsa in Montreal, I got excited, thinking I'd be going there with my fiancee. Now that her interview is this month, we won't be going to Montreal. Anyway, are there places in Toronto that are comparable to that, or maybe a place that has a more romantic feel? Thanks!

You could always try the top of the CN tower, so fun, or take a boat ride over to the RCYC, the boat club over in the island. Canoe is also a super good one! Or head to Yorkdale area maybe the 4 seasons? Have fun I sure miss that city!

Where in Toronto will you be staying? There are hundreds of fantastic restaurants! If you give me a sense of where you will be and how familiar you are with the city, I'd love to make some reccommendations.

Off the top of my head -

Rodney's Oyster Bar - if you like oysters;

Peter Pan - down on Queen St. W.;

Marche - Yonge St - south of King;

Oliver and Bonnacini - Bayview and Sheppard;

Salad King - FANTASTIC Thai food at Yonge and Dundas;

The Old Spaghetti Factory - pasta house with a great steak on the menu and beautiful decor - there is a merry-g0-round right in the middle of the restaurant (does not run though)

and the Potato Club in the entertainment district.

Believe it or not, but the name of my favourite restaurant in Toronto has escaped me - it's at Yonge and Eglinton though, which is uptown. I'll post it when I remember it.

As another poster said - Canoe is great but I've only ever had lunch there.

Happy eating!

I second, Peter Pan is great... in the Yonge & Eglinton area one of my husband and my absolute favourites is Grano, it is an Excellent Italian place. I love the Queen Mother, but it's not so much "romantic'.

You can also look at zagat.com and narrow it down to what you enjoy eating or locations in the city. Lots of great restaurants to eat in though. I must agree the top of the CN is amazing.

Thanks for everyone's reply. Maybe we'll get to those one day. It looks like I might get to Montreal after all now. The short version(I'll post the long in the main forum) is she might be asking for a date change. Maybe we'll go to that previously mentioned place.

yeah, whadday want, romantic or fun? Can't be both :P

Fun - Medieval Times. You get to eat with your hands and watch Knights joust.

Fun - Dinner Theatre. Tony & Tina's Wedding I hear is good, I haven't been. If its still running. You're a dinner guest at their wedding.

Plus there's a few "Mysteriously Yours" mystery dinner theatre things, where you are one of the suspects or witnesses to a murder.

Famous People Players is an absolutely AWESOME show, and really good food. The show is mentally challenged adult puupeteers with black light and stuff. The theatre was built just a few years ago, with donated money and parts from a lot of really famous celebrities from Phil Collins, the Rolling Stones, Tom Cruise, and Paul Newman's food is served in the restaurant, donated from proceeds of his food company. Brilliant show I've seen it 3 times, once at the dinner theatre after it was built. http://www.fpp.org/

For romantic, I'd suggest 360 at the CN Tower. Or a hotdog from a vendor at Nathan Phillips Square. Depends on budget ;)

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!
