idk it was before my time. i know it made a lot of people a lot of money while it was illegal.

Then your statement holds no water, does it?

Was alcohol consumption in the US during prohibition more or less than it was before or after prohibition?

Yeah good point. Let's get rid of licensed gun dealers and turn it all over to organized crime.

You do realize that Mexico has very strict gun laws, don't you? And before you jump up and say they're getting them from the U.S., sure they are. But I'd bet if they couldn't get them here, they'd get them from somewhere else, or just make them themselves.

Should I try Chinese? Most states have a two year mandatory minimum sentence for first time offenders in regards to people found with illegal firearms yet it is rarely enforced by the authorities. Now talk it out with the cops and the courts and ask them why they don't enforce the laws they already have on the books.

Lots of states keep lowering the alcohol limit in regards to DWI/DUI's even though the ones they already have make it illegal to drink a single beer and then drive seeing how that one beer will put you over the limit if you take a breathalizer withing X amount of time after drinking that one 12oz. beer yet they continue to keep lowering the limit. It's about enforcing the laws already on the books. Kind of like how the US doesn't enforce it's own immigration laws.

Ugh! So now we're right back to where I said that what we're doing now isn't working! Here genious, stare at this a bit.

It was the biggest boost to crime ever in the US during any time of this country and it's what solidified organized crime as we know it today. People keep talking about making new and stricter laws when the laws already on the books aren't enforced. Take illegal immigration for instance. Strict laws were in place for illegal immigration yet this country has tens of millions of illegal immigrants. Are they being deported? No, they are about to get a free ride for knowingly and willingly breaking the laws of this country.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I did not say anything remotely close to what you're referencing. I believe you need one of these too.

Facts suck don't they teddy. I'l be honest. I don't like you, especially after that ####### you posted about my wife on another thread last week. You have zero class. But what makes it worse is you don't show much with these discussions/debates we have on here. You get shot down with facts and you resort to your usual no class post. You could use a good ####### whipping imo.

what did you mean here?

I think it's fairly clear. I am criticizing the fact that ANYONE - law abiding or not, citizen or not, mentally capable of responsibly handling a firearm or not - absolutely ANYONE in this country has easy access to firearms. That is the issue and that is why we have this kind of shite happening all the time. That is why we have so much gun violence in this country. Because guns are easily available to any azzhat in this country.

figure 4 is at odds with the text under firearm types on page 2 then.

eta: figure 4 is also at odds with figure 1

You keep pointing out facts like that and one of these left wing nutters just might turn you into the FBI for being one of those Pro US Constitution type guys.

What was classless about what Teddy just posted? It couldn't have been the shiny object, since you do it on a daily basis and that would be hypocritical.

You said this:

It's not my fault you can't seem to make the connection. Here let me do it for you. When Alcohol was outlawed in the U.S. people still drank. Instead of it being supplied by govt. licensed dealers and taxed, it was supplied by organized crime (Mafia) This in turn caused a rise in violent crime in the 1920s. Once the U.S. govt. realized this, they came to their senses and repealed prohibition. Here try this:

www.wikipedia.org Search on prohibition, it's all there. Better yet just try Google.
