All this gun control stuff is laughable. Might have made sense 100 years ago. There's 270+ million legal and illegal guns in this country. What are you gonna do about those? They don't decompose. The gun buy-back thing is a joke. People just turn in a bunch of ####### guns that either no one wants, or they don't actually work.

no. i'm saying he stole it from the owner. are you saying you'd be liable if i stole your car & ran a couple people over? you didn't have it booted

If I left the keys in the ignition, yes. That is known as "implied permission". You would not be charged with auto theft, only "joy riding".

Is that how it works in California? Crazy. It's the same here in Texas regardless if the keys are in it or not.

Limiting the amount of guns a person can own, means less access to guns for all, that cuts down the access to nuts that go on these killing sprees. Limiting the calibers and removing automatic abnd semi automatic weapons, cuts down on the amount of damage that can be done if one of these nuts does manage to get their hands on a gun. Raising the sentence from 1 to 10 years will make everyone think twice about posessing an illegal gun, including the dealers that sell them. There will always be people that scoff at the laws in place and break them anyway, this is not a cure all, it's a way to cut down on the number of firearm related deaths.

Limiting the amount of guns people can own is not going to cut down on some wingnut going into a mall and killing two people. or a shooter at a Colorado movie theater. As far as semi auto's vs single action guns, I would much rather be able to pull the trigger over and over without having to pull back the hammer each and every time if an intruder breaks into my house. It's my life on the line. With the laws in place for illegal guns, most states have a mandatory two year sentence yet it is rarely enforced for the fact the jails are full to the brim already with criminals.

Again it's the inner cities that make up for nearly 90% of all gun related deaths yet the media doesn't slam that one. Two white people in a suburbia Oregon mall were gunned down. It's a shame it happened yet how many people were gunned down in Chicago last night alone?

The best way to cut down on gun related deaths is to get the scum off the streets. It's not PC yet it's a fact. You clean out the inner cities of the scum and this country would look like Switzerland as it should. BTW it's mandatory in Switzerland to own a fire arm...semi auto's at that yet the Swiss don't have close to the numbers in regards to gun related deaths. Why is that? Because Switzerland isn't full of scum with zero morals. It's a thugs world these days.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

So what do we do? Just accept things the way they are? Or is there a solution?

If I own a bar, and serve you enough alcohol that you leave my establishment drunk, then get into your car and drive away, I am liable if you get into an accident, or injury somebody.

Today I learned everything can be compared to cars, no matter how different..

Honestly that's a really good question. I wish I had an answer. It seems it's a little late for gun control laws though.

It makes all the sense in the world to someone who is serious about gun control. You are not.

In Texas it's called Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. Same penalties as Grand Theft Auto in other states. So doesn't matter if you leave your keys laying around here.

Yup, I suggest we just give up. Why not just give out guns for free to everyone? at least that way we'll all have a fighting chance.
