I am a Canadian woman who has been in a loving relationship with a terrific American man for just over 3 years now. Originally, we were looking at him moving up here as I have 2 kids to accommodate as well. Due to some recent medical issues, he is unable to travel and therefore, we have decided that it will be better for me to move there instead. I am looking at going down through a K-1 Visa. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. My kids will be moving with me...they are 10 and 14 and are fully on board with me :)

This has been by far the easiest site to navigate through, that I have found. I have been reading for hours already and everything I have read(so far) makes a lot more sense than the numerous other sites I have been sent to.

Hello to everyone here and good luck on your journeys!

Welcome to the forum.

If you haven't already, please do check out the "Guides" section, located at the top of the forum page, for great information on the immigration processes.

Happy trails on your immigration journey.

Hi Mumzie!

Welcome to VJ.

As A&B said, check out the guides section (on the blue bar at the top) to see if the K-1 is the way you want to go or not. There are pros and cons to each method.

Also, if you look at the forums, there is a Canada forum (located near the bottom of the forums page in the Regional section). It gives information that pertains solely to Canadians, like applying for Canadian EI and such.

Beat of luck in your journey!
