I am new to Visa Journey and this is my first post. It is a post in desperation really :help:

Everything went so quick! I filed our case at the end of June. Our case was approved on August 14. It was in Morocco one week after that! He had his interview on September 26 and now we have heard nothing! It is crazy. It has been 6 weeks since his interview. When he went to the interview he said it went really well. He had everything he needed for the interview. The woman was very impressed with his great English. She did say that for some reason they had not received his medical exam yet from the doctor. She gave him a paper that said he still needed his medical exam papers. After the interview he went to the doctors and asked if they had sent the exam records to the consulate. They said they had sent the information over a week before his interview. Mohamed went back the following week and gave the consulate back the paper and told them that they should have his medical exam records. We have e-mailed them and we just get a generic reply stating:

Dear Mr.

Thank you for your email inquiry. Your case requires additional administrative processing which takes place in the United States . As soon as the processing is completed you will be notified so that you can complete your immigrant visa petition.

I think I will need to call the consulate in Morocco on Monday. I called the USCIS here in the US and they said that the only record they have on file is that the case was approved on August 14. Also, our case seems to be perfect. We are close in age 23 and 24. We both have never been married. We have no children. I have a good job. I have been to Morocco and my family has.

If anyone could please give me advice. Or if you have gone through the US consulate in Morocco and you know anything that could help I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Janelle

This sounds like standard AP to me. They send the case back to Washington for security checks, very normal stuff.

What number are you calling for information?

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Call the department of state:

1-202-663-1225

Option 1 then 0 then 0 again. This will give you a live operator. Have your case number and SO's name and birthday ready. Tell them you want to check on the status of the case. Hopefully they can help explain what is going on.

Good luck!

It's for security checks as they said, conducted by the Department of State in Washington. The consulate can't do anything further until its completed. The amount of time involved varies depending on which checks are ordered. Be patient and don't let it distress you. It just takes time... sometimes weeks and sometimes months.
