Hello friends,how are you all doing?have been in the USA for almost 3months,married now,how do i change my name to my married name and also how do i change my name on my social security number,also on the I 485 form do i sign with my madian name or my married name?Thanks for help always!

Your marriage certificate/certified copy of marriage certificate is your proof of name change.

Your I95 has to still be unexpired in order to change your name on ss card. They usually won't do it unless there are 14 days or more until I95 expires. If you're too late, the you'll have to wait until receiving EAD or greencard to change the last name. Since you've been married for 3 months, I expect you'll have to wait until getting EAD to change name with SSA. Same goes for the DMV/BMV.

You fill out AOS(and all other forms) with the name you'll be using in the future. If that's your married name, then all papers for AOS will be filled out with your married name. Again, your marriage cert. is proof of your name change. Bring the marriage cert. with you to the biometrics appointment in case they ask.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days
