You are at the ROC stage, so surely you filed in tax records before? Was it always recognised before?

I'd visit your local Social Security Office, SSN card in hand.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

They say all is well with my SSN. A glitch in the system they say.

Well that is good to know cos this thing can mean trouble down the road if you have a problem with your SSN. I am glad everything is fine now

It isn't recognised with the IRS or SSA website, but when i call them it's all OK. Strange.

I'm thinking it's where I never updated my info.
