It feels like this AOS is taking FOREVER, which seems pretty normal. But is it normal for the application to be transferred again?

The application was received by the national service we were supposed to send it to on June 4. On June 5 it was transferred to the California Service Center. Today that Center is processing applications received June 16 and after, meaning they must've already processed our June 5 application -- but the status online hasn't been updated. When we called, USCIS told us the application had been transferred to Boston and the best bet to learn more would be to take an Infopass appointment. We did, but the staff in Boston said the app was clearly still in California.

Anyone have any idea why the status online hasn't been updated?

Or why it would be transferred at all at this point?

Or what we can do about it?

The rep was wrong. Your file is in CA. AOS approvals are taking 8 months or so right now. How do you know the date at CA? Because that date is not listed on the USCIS website.

I agree. The file is most likely still sitting in CSC. The USCIS information line is notorious for giving out incorrect information.

I'm curious about your dates though, you say you filed June 4, and your case was transferred June 5? That's not possible.

Three people at USCIS have said that they're on June 16. Last week (or the week before?) they told us June 2nd, too.

And two different people said the case was transferred to Boston.

Are they that confused? And if so, will we ever see this green card?!

Yes, you will see a GC. The process is opaque but it does work, eventually. The number you call is often called the "misinformation line." They are not USCIS employees, they are subcontracted call center workers who read from a script. You can trust the people at INFOPASS, though. They are IOs and know what they are talking about.

Why don't you join a June filers thread in the progress subforum, and see if other June filers are getting approvals yet.

It is possible for cases to get transferred back from the CSC to your local USCIS office. It happened to my husband. If yours did indeed get transferred from the CSC to Boston, all it means is that you will have an interview soon.

Ironically the USCIS people in Boston said he wouldn't need an interview unless there was something suspicious on his application. UGH!

It is confirmed that they are processing mid-June applications, so I don't understand how there is still no update on the website on ours. We submitted an official complaint and all that, but it takes almost two weeks for them to respond. My husband wants to go to school, and he can't even get a student loan without his green card. This is so frustrating!

Doesn't have to be anything suspecious in the case to have an interview. It's somewhat pretty random 50/50 with the ones arriving with a K1 visa. True, some have interviews because there are red flags but far from everyone.

From the time the case was transferred to CSC until you can put in a service request, it's 180 days. You can call and ask where your case is currently at and which date is was transferred and when it was received. Preferably, ask to get transferred to a tier 2 person.

I read your reviews of your petition stage and interview. Without it being sarcastic, you can't expect USCIS to know anything about the process overseas. You're basically asking a random Dairy Queen employee which specific ingredients are in the bread from Subway. Not only that; CSRs at USCIS know very little about the process going on at USCIS. They have no knowledge about what goes on at NVC or the embassies(unless they went through the process or unless they spend their free time reading about it).

This is not true. There was nothing wrong with our case or anything suspicious about it. My husband was approved on the spot and our interview only lasted about 5 minutes.
