Just got an email stating our I-130 was approved. Excellent Christmas present!

Good timing since on Friday I spoke to a Tier 2 ISO who said that my petition was sent to my local office (Chicago) on Oct. 10 and told me that "The region was moving slowly."

So, in brief: received our NOA 1 on Aug. 21, then a transfer letter to Lee's Summit on Aug. 23. Last touched September 4th, transfer to Chicago on Oct. 10, approved today.

I will post again once I get the letter to see where the approval notice was actually sent from...Chicago vs. NBC.

Oh good then I won't COMPLETLY freak if I find out they send us back to Chicago. At least I know it isn't a death sentence for interviews.

When I spoke to the Tier 2 ISO last Friday, he mentioned something about me being scheduled for an interview, I said I hadn't received a notice, then he asked whether we asked for AOS or consular filing, I said consular...so I assume that negates the need for an interview on my end? Perhaps that is the confusion with local offices, AOS vs. Consular cases.

Yes, Darnell has mentioned that these field offices might be confused with other petitions/types of petitions they normally file.

I think the idea of an interview is ridiculous.

Interviews at this level are supposed to be for people that have previously overstayed or have been in removal proceedings.

I would hope being overseas that you could get out of that one.

I cannot get out of it if I'm requested for one since I don't actually LIVE up in Canada, but it's still a HUGE inconvenience. BAH!
