Obamas Attend Annual Holiday Concert in Washington, Psy Performs Despite Scandal

A holiday concert attended Sunday by President Barack Obama and his family included some non-traditional entertainment this year: a performance by South Korean rapper and Internet sensation PSY.

PSY— wearing an all-red outfit including a sparkling, sequined top— was backed by dancers wearing reindeer antlers as he performed his popular "Gangnam Style" dance, which mimics riding a horse.

The rapper, born Park Jae-sang, had apologized Friday for using what he called "inflammatory and inappropriate language" during anti-U.S. protests at concerts in 2002 and 2004. The flak from his remarks didn't dampen the festive holiday mood Sunday.

Obama Meets Psy Amid Flap Over Rapper’s Anti-U.S. Lyrics

President Obama met and shook hands with South Korean Internet sensation Psy at a holiday concert in Washington Sunday night, amid the controversy surrounding the rapper’s 2004 anti-American comments calling for the killing of “Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives.”

...

“Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law, and fathers. Kill them all slowly and painfully,” he sang at the concert in Seoul.

He has apologized for the lyrics. “I understand the sacrifices American servicemen and women have made to protect freedom and democracy in my country and around the world,” Psy said in a statement Friday.

He said the song “was part of a deeply emotional reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two Korean schoolgirls that was part of the overall anti-war sentiment shared by others around the world at that time.”

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Well, it's not like he actually shot at American pilots flying over enemy territory. I guess all sins can be forgiven with time.

A lot of Americans haven't forgiven her for the ####### she pulled. The ones that did are in the same boat as the ones who forgave Micheal Jackson for molesting little boys imo.

Oh look - we've got a birther here!

It's the usual attention seeking nonsense. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't believe half the ####### he posts.

The Michael Jackson obsession is old, too.

You do look cute doing that...

I'd be careful. I got banned for posting a similar pic only that it was a nun in the pic.

So you're saying the President does not discriminate against an artist who exercises his constitutional right of free speech?

What a shocker . . .

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Only a low life weasel or better yet a low life weasel president of the US who never served would shake hands and welcome someone who advocated murdering American troops. He is the commanding officer and this is what he shows his troops.
