Approved! without signing the DS-230?????

Ok just came back from Montreal consulate, had the interview, got welcome letter but I did not sign any papers, like the hard copy of the ds-260-ds-230. DO they just accept the one online? I was sworn in and all but I was under the impression that I had to sign that famous part 2 in front of them!!!! DId the consular officer miss a step??????

Ok so...I was approved...got the welcome to america letter, but I didn't sign the hard copy of the DS 230 part 2 at the consulate like everyone here said I would have to do. I did the DS-260 electronically and the NVC letter stated that they had received the DS 260. Did anyone else NOT have to sign the DS 230 hard copy at the interview??? AND GET THIS!!!! The NVC stated that we would need a co-sponsor which we didn't have because my husband makes a few thousand under the poverty level... for which I submitted evidence of cash in our bank account to NVC. So I brought all the financial evidence to the interview and he didn't even ask for it!!! #######?????????

Please if anyone has any thoughts as to what is going on

Now that you mention it, my fiance didn't sign it either...the only thing he had to sign was the notice stating he would sign up for Selective Services within 30 days of his arrival.

No. We didn't have to either. I'm not sure why. The only thing my fiance had to sign was the paper that said he'd sign up for selective services within 30 days of moving here.

Ok that makes me feel a bit better...and you guys submitted the ds 260 online correct?

One of the Norwegian filers didn't do it and he had to wait 4 weeks to get his visa and then go to the embassy to sign it!

I'm not 100% on this but I think you'll be able to just sign it at the POE if you didn't sign it at the interview.

You know what...now that I think about it, OP...he did sign it. I remember now. It had my name on the top part of the 2nd half. And he did sign it. Ugh! Sorry friend!!!

the thing is on the nvc letter under document status..it says:

1-immigrant visa part 1 document status R

2-immigrant visa part 2 document status R

R means The electronic ds-260 form has been submitted and reviewed

When was your interview? If it was like today or Friday....give it until this coming up Friday to see if you receive your visa. We got ours 2 days later. And if you don't hear anything from them, send an email or call DOS and have them look to see if the visa was issued.

interview was today...they took the i-864 but not the IV 230 which i prefilled....only thing i can think of is that they are phasing it out....according to saylin's wiki on montreal she makes no mention of bringing the 230.

That's weird. Yeah he did sign it. I remember when we first went up to the very first window to give her all our paperwork she went through each and every paper and made sure it was all filled out and signed correctly.

I guess wait and see...I just emailed Saylin...maybe she knows what's going on....because on her wiki, updated Oct 28 there's no mention of needing to bring the 230, and it's very detailed....

so I guess I am safe?
