Yes it's normal and it could take 4-6 weeks for your case to reach the NVC. The letter means they have not received your case yet. Send them an email next week with your case number in the subject line - don't bother calling USCIS - they cannot provide status of a case with the NVC.

Why dont you call NVC and choose option 1 then option 5, to find whether your file is there? They gave me same day information and the call was very short. The even told me that the file was on the way to the embassya nd when I tracked the DHL site, I saw my package there. My NOA2 was dayed 10/13/06. The number is 1-603-334-0700.

1) Because the NVC doesn't enter K1s in their system therefore chances are very high they do not have the information when you waste your time calling them.

2) Because you are a Troll and you don't really have a fiance in one of the three countries you include on your profile, no one would follow any of your instructions or believe anything you post.

Kitkat are you off your meds in recent days or what?

NVC does have the information, if you call and give them your receipt number. But you have to talk to someone, dont do the automated entry.I called the automated machine this am and the machine does not yet recognize my number, even when the NVC person told me my file is on transit and I check on DHL site and saw the tracking number.

I called them yesterday and they gave me the information. If you dont believe it, thats your problem not mine. DHL have my file on transit, whether you agree to that or not.

As for your calling me names, I have thick skin and will not stoop to your level.

Matako. tried calling the NVc and they dont have my case, in a way,Kitkat1 is right, sometimes they dont put some k1 cases in their system because it will not stay there for a long time. since its normal that it takes 4-6 months, from what other vjer's have said,so i am willing to wait, before i call them(i dont have any choice either).Matako, it will also help if we post our timeline.....

i saw your timeline now, thanks...

Try reading the post Troll:

If you want anyone to believe anything you are saying, why don't you share the truth about your "fiance" from three different countries? Isn't it time for a name change now that you've moved her Uzbekistan?

Kitkat,

I did not write that post and please note NVC will give the information if you call AND TALK TO SOMEONE.the machine does not have the information. My application is on to the embassy, I have nothing to prove arguing with you...am done with this to and fro.

Interesting - you didn't write the post above under your name?

The NVC cannot give the information even if you talk to someone if the case has NOT YET BEEN RECEIVED AT THE NVC.

If your "application" is indeed on the way to the embassy, WHICH EMBASSY? Ukraine? Mozambique? Uzbekistan? or will "she" be relocating again this week?

Don't bother responding - the ignore button is very handy for TROLLS like you.

Heres is the point. When you call NVC, you can either talk to the person on the line, or the machine will prompt you to enter the case number.

The fact am stating that kitkat is too off-medication to understand is this:The automated machine (where you enter your number) will tell you that the file has not been received, but if you speak to a live person, that person will tell you the tructh.

In my case, the automated reponse when I enter my WAC number on the phone still is that they dont have my case but a live person has already told me the case is on to the embassy and I saw the same from the DHL site. Kitkat will one day need that knowledge.

The point: talk to a live person. Dont trust the automated prompt options 1->1->1->4-> 1 on the number I gave you.

Yes when you call NVC you have to speak to a real live person which isn't hard to do. The first option is for people who have filed an immigrant visa (the K1 visa isn't an immigrant visa) the second option list several things and the fiance visa is included in the second option. After you pick the second option you will be transferred to a person who will ask you for your number. At that point they will tell you if they have received your info etc, etc.

Matako is correct, NVC live person will tell you weather they have received your case or not.

K1 are not entered in the "automated " system but a live person ( press 1 press 5 ) will tell you on the phone if the case number has been assigned, therefore I recommend emailing AND calling

twice a week after a 2 week wait.

In a few cases and for some unknown reason some files bypass the NVC and go directly

to the embassy though that is not the norm OR are in and out of NVC in a flash with

a case number.
