We called Uscis, our Petition went to the local office (HOUSTON) in November for further processing, The tier 2 said that my wife will have to give an interview over there and also that the process of NOA2 will take another 3 months, the bigger problem is my wife is here in Pakistan with me and we dint know that she will have to give an interview. We are calling uscis again to see if they can switch the interview over here, is that possible ?

What do we do ?

Update: So we spoke to USCIS, They said we might have an interview we might not, the tier 2 said usually when the cases are transferred there is a 50 50 chance on an interview and that Interview is only conducted in the US if the docs are filed in the US not outside the country. So now we feel that we are stuck in a Limbo, if it will happen or if it will not happen. Confusing and Frustrating.

well you have to wait to see if interview will be needed or not. hopefully no but if she has to interview by local office then good luck trying to get the embassy to handle that.

There are a couple of other people that have heard about interviews, but I heard it might not be the case. I don't think anyone has actually been scheduled for one yet.

This weird field office thing is uncharted waters for the people here, so I think everyone is playing it by ear.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

When you filed the I-130 was it filed from Pakistan or did your wife file it from the states? If she filed from abroad, in my humble opinion, they have no right to request an interview from her in the states. AND omg you're freaking me out b/c I just KNOW that ####### is going to happen to me! :protest:

Also, since you were transferred to NBC, could you please change that on your timeline and profile? Thanks so much!

We are calling uscis again to see if they can switch the interview over here, is that possible ?

Highly unlikely that will be possible. If the petitioner is being called for an interview prior to an adjudication decision, then such an interview is being conducted by USCIS personnel. People working at the Embassy in Islamabad or at the Consulates in Karachi, Lahore, or Peshawar are State Department personnel and thus not able to conduct such interviews.

It seems that ISOs are assuming there may be an interview because that has been the norm for I-130s at local offices. BUT I think because us MSC numbers are in such a weird place being processed outside the VSC/CSC that it isn't the case.

So far no one has said they have actually had one of these interviews.

It really seems this might be misinformation or confusion on the ISO's part.

BUT we also dont know yet. So nothing is set in stone.
