Hello,

I have a question.. I came to the US in 2006 on a J-1 visa, then adjusted my status to B-2 while in the US. I was on B-2 for 1 year and then changed to F-1. I graduated with my Bachelor's in 2011 and then did my OPT until August of 2012. I then applied for adjustment of status again and am now here on a B-2. I want to apply for an extension of my B-2 for 6 more months.. what do you think my chances of approval are? Please, note that I have not left the US during that time since 2006 til now. Any suggestions or opinions will be GREATLY appreciated!

Noone has been in a similar situation like mine??

From what i could hear from couple of immigration lawyers they rarely approve more than two times for B2 or 1 year time wise. In very rare cases it gets approved for more than two times so my guess would be that your chances are slim, but hey i am just nobody.

GL anyway

In my case, this would be the second B-2 because I was on F-1 before that. What i want to do is go back to school in September to do my Master's but my B-2 would expire on Feb 20th. So, there is a few months gap where there is not much i can do and leaving the US is not an option for me. Thank you for your reply.

Than in your case i`d go for it. After all you dont have nothing to lose so i`d give it a try. I am curently pending for 4 months extension for B2.
