if you look at the chart ... usually take up to 5 months before they even touch...In my case just have been lucky, we send out package to Chicago lock box, then transfer to MSC, from NOA1 to NOA2 only 49 days, currently our package in NVC. GL to you.

Well, I don't know how long it's gonna take before you get approved. I hope it's soon but be prepared to wait a lot of months. I know you don't want to hear about that, I didn't wanna hear that either but the sooner you realize you might need to wait for a long time, the better you're gonna live the wait. I've been waiting for almost 6 months now and still no good news. I missed my first anniversary with my husband and I miss him so much. I was always very very very positive about how long this whole process was going to take but unfortunately I wasn't that lucky. Vermont office is taking very long for some reason and we can't really do anything to speed things up. I don't want to make you upset or make you feel worse than you already feel but I think it's better for you to know the worse case scenarios and have a nice surprise in the end than thinking that everything is going to be FAST and then you end up like me, with a slow case, no news and depressed.

Anyways I wish you the best and fastest approval ever

It is odd that you sent it in January and didn't receive your NOA1 until May. Very odd.

Your application is NOT at the chicago lockbox. It's at the vermont service center.

They are working on applications around your time frame right now, so you should have approval soon.

So you didnt get your actual NOA2? If your going by the estimated NOA2 date on VJ, I wouldnt suggest putting your hopes on that date as it really is only an estimate based on other members timelines. Mine for example took 5 months which for VSC is the average. So I'd say expect 6 months +/-. If sooner great. You cannot really judge how quickly you will get an interview date as it all depends on how quick you are with paying fees and sending in documents to NVC. NVC is much quicker than USCIS though and you can kind of control to a point how fast/slow that stage takes. Hopefully you have all documents and forms ready and filled out?? If not have a look at the opening post here to get a better idea http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/397538-nvc-filers-december-2012/

Good luck

thanks dear :)

I would like to ask.. what about those CHANGING dates that appear in my timeline? i mean in the morning it was that i will receive my NOA2 between 17-27/12, then later it was changed to 10-21/12 and now it is 9-20/12.. what the hell?!

You're seeing those because people who were transferred to NBC are still incorrectly labeled as Vermont or California. Then people are telling them to fix it so it stops doing that so It changes again.

then on which date should i rely?

None of the VJ dates as they are rough estimates. I would call USCIS if it has been 6 months or more since your NOA1 and ask for a service request. You seem to be on the tail end of some recent approvals out of Vermont, so don't give up hope.

on the USCIS website in the spouse section; there is sth written below: Can i have my spouse in the US while she has a pending request?.. the answer was yes by doing the I-129 K3/K4 visa type while you are already doing her the IR1/CR1.. and when he called the USCIS an agent told him the same so he did it.. we noticed a delay in our case and whenever we call anybody he just says next week and next week.. so few days ago he's been to the Immigration office in Cincinnati and they told him that everything was smooth until you applied for the fiance'e visa (I-129) on September.. my husband told them that he did not do it cz he wanted to, he was trying to get me to the states faster and an agent at the USCIS has advised him to do that.. so the guy at Cincinnati told him that they are trying to consolidate 2 files under one name and that everything is going good and he thinks it won't take too long and that if he hadn't done this move i would have been with him in the states now and that he should write a letter to explain his case to VSC..

what is driving me nutts is WHY DO THEY WRITE SOMETHING ON THE WEBSITE AND THEY DO STH TOTALLY OPPOSITE TO IT? "Can i have my spouse in the US while she has a pending request?" SPOUSE: means WIFE..and why do they advise stuff that would destroy and delay!!!!

Ok, because the I-129 can be used for both fiancees and spouses. It is for a non-immigrant visa. Back when CR and IR-1s took a very long time, the K3 and I-129 application did allow your spouse to be in the country while waiting. However, the I-130 takes less time than the I-129 now and the applications are merged. In 99% of cases a person wastes their money filing for a K3.
