Since the OP (according to his/her first post) used a J1 appropriately, he/she should not face much difficulty obtaining a B2...unless.....unless the OP decides to rely on the bogus advice of one earlier poster, who offered the 'sage' advice to claim a visit of 3 weeks, buy an airline ticket for 3 weeks, lie to CPB, then change the ticket, and no one will know...just tell the truth and resist the temptation to challenge a VO with some 'clever' story....because if you don't succeed, the odds of getting a visa in the near future will have dropped to near zero....

I really don't understand about your removal of my posts. What do you mean profanity? No one is swearing anything here. I just posted saying I understood him, so what the big fuss about it?

You quoted the post that I removed for swearing, that is why I removed your post also.

If you are only coming over for a summer visit you just need to apply for a ESTA https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/

You do the application online,You get an immediate answer and a VISA Authorization# that you print out. It lasts for 2 years and you normally get 3 months authorized stay each time you visit USA during those 2 years.

'This is for Citizens of Europe only.'

Here are all the Answers to any Questions you might have.

Being critical of an admin does not constitute profanity.

You probably felt annoyed by "loosen up" mentioned by HKL. However, I asked someone who is very professional in English language and the above sentence is what my that friend wants me to reply you.

I am not here to provoke some thing. But, I bet this is not the first time you did thing like that. If you don't like some post, simply avoid reading it. If you think that's offending you, simply you can write your own opinion about it. No one is ever going to seal your mouth up. There is no right for people just to use their priority and determine I am going to let people read what I want. This is US.

might i point out that you're addressing a global moderator? telling a moderator

If you don't like some post, simply avoid reading it.

is not the right answer. you may wish to rethink your position on that.

Correction: 'This is for citizens of most EU/EEA countries, with some notable exceptions.' (Also included are Australia, NZ, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Brunei)

See below.

OP: I'd say your chances are fairly good, especially given that you live and have the right to work in Finland.

Btw, why are you interviewing in Kosovo? Your chances might actually be better in Helsinki - If you have the right to live and work in Finland, you should have been able to interview there.

As for lying about your intended stay - This is absolutely horrible advice. There is one thing you never do in immigration and that's lie to an immigration officer, it has dire consequences. If you plan to stay 3 - 4 months, tell them that. Put simply, if you show up at a US airport telling the CBP officer that you plan to stay for 3 weeks, with 4 months of luggage, you're in for a denied entry.

Ok. If you intend to stay 4 months, buy a ticket for 4 months and state you are coming for 3 weeks that's a lie. But if you plan for a short trip and the officer stamps your passport for 6 months that's like him saying 'if you want you can stay up to 6 months'. There is nothing wrong with that. And definitely there should not be any repercussions for staying the time frame allowed by the Immigration Officer.

I don't think it looks that way.

There's a queue to the immigrations officers at the airport... People come for a week trips, 10-day trips, 15-day trips, up to 6-month trips... If the CBP would change their date stamp to suit every single person, the waiting in the queue will be like hours longer than it is now.

Sometimes they change their date stamp, but it's really rarely.

So it's not like you were given the 6-month stay and you should stay 6 months. Sure, you're allowed to stay that long (according to CBP, not your plans), but be prepared to have some good explanations if your next trip will happen not that far away in time from your first one. And be realistic... Who can afford staying that long in another country?

Thank you for your advice. Well, the reason why Im getting the interview in Kosovo, is because there are some people who get visas in some strange and I would say illegal ways! And because I think I have much more proves to show to the Embassy than they do, they will give it to me in a easier way. I also hope I will get if for 10 years. My purpose is that I could visit USA ANYTIME I would like within next 10 years at least! But for sure, I dont have intentions of immigrating there illegally , since I'm studying , and in a near future I will become an Engineer ! Do you think that I would be in a better position on going there as an engineer, or immigrating illegaly? It would be extremely stupid to I would say RUIN my USA life like that ! I dont know why my visa application chances turned out to be understood like criminal activity by some posters ! Lol. But,however, thank you everybody for your replies. I truly appreciate your help. :)

Originally your intentions were not thought of as criminal activity, but now they are.

Really? No idea why, eh?

My friend. I am GENUINE ! I wouldnt do such a mistake to lie for nonsense ! Look... I wanna show you something:

IF* I would like to WORK* and make money during the summer... and IF* I would go in USA like that, lets say... I would earn 8000$ for 3 months (Even though that is almost impossible). To get there, flight ticket+transport expenses+rent+food´, that would lets say for 3 months 3500$. That would mean that, I am STAYING ILLEGALLY in USA, and Im working ILLEGALLY, to get 4500$ which is something like 3,400 Euro. In Finland , I can make 2,000 Euro LEGALLY per month, without a problem, which is 6,000 Euro for 3 months(which from some basic math skills would mean that 6,000 is bigger than 3,500, isnt it?) and I wouldnt need to be afraid of working illegally, and I wouldnt be afraid of ''what Im going to say to CO next time''. So logically.... I AM GENUINE !
