Can I use black marker to omit bank accout number , and still be accepted?

I am wondering if I can submit bank statement, more so to show names listed on account (such as both my fiance and I) but black out the actual account number. I am not submitting this, to show funds in account, but merely to prove we are joint holders. Or do you know if there is something else, such as a letter, that I can obtain from bank stating that we are indeed holding joint account but without actually listing our account number??? Will this look suspicious, without the actual account number??? I just feel very uneasy providing anyone else with that information, when I am not using it to show balance or anything like that.

And also wondering when fiance takes in evidence to prove on-going relationship, such facebook chats, can I black out x rated parts that I would rather them not see???? Or will they believe items blacked out are because we are fraudulently planning, and not giving them access to read whole conversation??? Almost every conversation that I have had with my fiance, at one point or another, there has been "steamy conversations" lol and would feel very awkward to let someone read such personal discussion. Which I know I am not the only one, with this dilemma :)

The embassy doesn't want to read your sexchats, let alone see pictures of it. As long as the chatlogs show that you've been in contact and they're ongoing, that's what matters. Also, if you have visited each other since submitting the petition, the passport stamps(copies of them) are great to demonstrate that you still have a relationship. My embassy never took a look at the chatlogs however, they would've shown that there were no chats/phone calls when visiting.

Some people just copy/past the chatlogs into a document and use a session for each week. Otherwise it's more or less 500 pages that noone wants to go over. Not unless the embassy specifically asks for it.

You don't have to submit the joint bank account statement at this stage, not until AOS but it probably won't hurt you to submit it either. I blacked out some part of my account number(for the petition; proving I had used cc when visiting/meeting) and had no issues with that. The embassy however, has to treat your information as confidential.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Thank you very much, information is helpful. And I agree that no one is going to take time to read 500 pages, and have even heard some people aggravating officer from submitting that many pages/pictures and so forth. I have also been told, it is best to just have a variety of proof on on going relationship instead of only one specifically. Yet, I feel chats and phone call logs are one of the best to show an on-going relation, especially if there hasn't been any trips made, since submitting application. It is also good to know, that bank statements and such will be kept confidential. I suspected that it would, but so many countries are corrupt, I didn't want to risk leaving entire account number for someone else to see. Especially if isn't required.

I redacted several things on the evidence I provided to USCIS. This included: intimate talk that we had on Skype and Yahoo IM, all but the last four numbers of my SSN, financial account numbers, etc. We experienced no issues from those actions.

YMMV.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Thank you very much! That gives me more peace of mind. I just am very cautious when it comes to personal info, being in someone's hands. And glad to know I am not the only person, with those same concerns and precautions.

You are welcome.

I understand your feelings. The government probably already has the account numbers, etc…. lol However, sensitive things don't need to be read by wandering eyes.

Happy trails on your visa journey.

You think a federal law enforcement officer with a fantastic job for life and a pension to die for would take your account number and try to pull some criminal stunt with it? Seriously? Google "paranoia."

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

I lived in Mexico for a year and a half. You would be suprized, if you seen what I did. So many officers, government officials and people of authority ARE VERY CORRUPT in that country! Google it, and you can probably find many articles of it too. That is no secret to anyone, in that country. And if you speak up about it, then your family may receive your decapitated head on their front doorstep. So yes, I really believe that could be possible that an official in Mexico would use any information for benefit. If it were in the hands of OUR government here in the US, I would be far more trusting. But in Mexico, with all of the corruption, sorry to say that there is NO government there that I trust completely. But thanks for your input! And it's not "paranoia", but more so being precocious!!!

Maybe I should have been more clear, in description. The question is more pertaining to documents for Mexican Embassy and NOT what is being submitted directly to USCIS. And the bank letter is not being submitted to show assets for I-134, but only to show we indeed have a joint account. Again I know that is not required to be shown, until the AOS process, but I would think this might be a beneficial document to show we are in serious relationship and it is on-going. I may not need it, or even be allowed to submit this. But I find nothing wrong, when being overly prepared.
