Hello all, I thank you for your time as you read my post. I have a few questions,

What type of employers can sponsor a person looking for a work visa because my family has owner ship in a local restaurant and i am curious if that enough to bring her to me.

My future wife currently lives in China and we are searching for a way to bring her to Indiana(my birth state)

Because of our age, ( I am 19 she is 18) we do not want to become married right away. Please if anyone can help and has any advice please reply.

Thanks a lot

-AB

Give people some time to answer, we all have families and jobs :)

She cannot just do any job here- her employer would need to show that she has special skills or they have a type of job that they cannot get an American to do. So waitressing is out, but if, say, they have a Chinese restaurant and she is an experienced cook of her native dishes (and I don;t mean likes to cook at home), they may have a case. Also keep in mind that a work visa costs upwards of $5000, which is a lot of money to be paying for just the visa, and then having to pay her the prevailing wage on top of that.

Have you considered other options? Such as you going to China for a while (maybe volunteering?), or her studying at a US college?

Yes i have thought of her going to a US college here in Indiana. She currently studies at the University of Chongqing. Would it be easy( i know nothing about the process is easy) for her to transfer to a college near me? Being from the midwest means there is many colleges near.

Thank you for your reply.

Usually the main stumbling block is cost, International Student rates are not cheap, but if she can afford it and assuming everything else is OK then yes.

also miss, how would me going to china aid in her obtaining a visa?

Make no difference.

Boiler is correct- getting an F1 student visa is easy, but she will have to pay international tuition rates (or get a sponsor to do so).

You moving to China would not be about her visa, it would be about you spending time together, as you say you are not ready for marriage yet.

once again i would like to express my uttermost gratitude for the advice all.

as for me going to china it just could not happen i am in the process of getting a very very good job here in the next 3 weeks that would allow me to provide for her and me and the family i expect soon to begin once she is here. I am looking into going for the b2 visa i believe for tourism then applying for the fiance(e) visa because we have decided to take that step after consulting with my family and friends and her family and friends. It is a very scary step for me but i am jumping in head first. I just truly believe that this is where my future should head other wise i will regret letting her go for the rest of my life. Do any of you advise getting an immigration lawyer or handling it seperatly, i just do not know how easy the process is in china and i know she will struggle with it but i am there to help her 100%. I just want this to be over, i want her here so we can begin our life together

Why apply for the b1/b2 visitor visa when you are applying for the fiancée visa?
