Hi everyone! I just got off the phone with NVC and confirmed that they received our K1 petition on Feb 22 and sent it out to the embassy in London on Feb 27. I've been reading the guides and embassy page and think I have all the forms we need for packet 3 (I wanted to take a look at them before we received it so we could get started) Alastair has requested his police cert and I had my employer do the employment verification letter today to use as supporting evidence for the I 134 she also did the bank letter for me. Now according to the instructions for the I 134 the bank letter needed to show when the account was opened total deposits for the last year and present balance so we kept it short and to the point addressed the letter to the us embassy in london stating:

to whom it may concern:

Lynn ..... has maintained and checking and savings account with (bank name) since june of 1998. the deposits for the last year totaled $............ the current available balance is $............

so is that it? it just seems too short..

the employer letter is similar just stating that I am currently employed at (bank name) as a financial associate since may 22nd 2001 and that i am a permanent full time employee with an annual salary of $.......

im guessing that is sufficient but was wondering if anyone included any other info. also im a bit concerned with the employment letter because i started working with them in june of 2000 then left the bank in may of 2004 and returned as a rehire in oct of 2005 since i hadnt been gone for more then 2 yrs they bridged my time and have my hire date on record now as may 2001 however in may of 2001 i was living in another state working for another bank... hmm wondering if i should have explained it more in the letter. do you think they will even check it?

As long as you have the money to sponsor your fiance I don't think they will check that, they just want to know you've got enough money to ensure he won't become a public charge. My letters I just sent over sounded very similar to yours so I think they will be fine! We haven't had our interview yet so I can't say they're definitely correct but I think they're just fine :)

thanks for the reply im hoping thats all the letters need to say. as far as showing i have enough money to ensure he will not become a public charge.. am i correct in assuming that at this point we just need to show that we make 125% of the poverty guideline? my deposits over the past year show that i deposited well over the guideline and current salary is also above however not much in the way of savings.

Well, at the AOS stage you have to prove 125% so it's best to start now with that as your guideline. If you meet that requirement with income you don't even have to worry about not having much savings.

Yep, best of luck to you! We are still waiting for our interview date, we sent back P3 4 weeks ago on Thursday so I'm feeling VERY impatient and worried! :P
