I sent emails and letters to the Prez, Condi, DHS, the Gov of my state. I got back some form letters thanking me for contacting them but I've gotten a BIG FAT ZERO from them. :(

My Congress Rep helped get our file out of the local CIS office and on to NVC, but said they couldn't do much more once the file went overseas. They did write a letter asking to process as quickly as possible since we've been "in the system" since 2001. Not only did that not help, but we were on AP for over a year!

I've been lucky since Vermont was so quick and the only hold up so far has been on our end, but if and when our AP time gets to be enormous I kind of wonder if contacting anyone will actually make the people in Cairo mad. I have pictures in my mind of them being put off at that and then sticking our file in a drawer just to spite us. Hopefully it won't come to that but I really feel for those who have waited over a year. I think that will be my breaking point. I can handle the wait now 'cause I'm really busy with work, life, etc. and because I'm seeing my husband in less than a month but I know that once I come back it's gonna get a lot harder.

sorry for all the confussion  i applied in dec/05 for K1 it was sitting in cairo embassy from feb 2006 thru till i withdrew it dec 2006 . nothing was getting done just sitting on someones desk collecting dust. so we got married and i applied for the spousal visa and it was approved june 5 2007.20 days it took to the date at the california center . vermont had it for 10 months without processing it so it was transferred to the calif. center no time and we were approved.now we are waiting for the packets from the nvc . then to cairo again. hopefully he will be here by the end of the summer. sorry to all i hope i cleared it all up for you, micky

MABROUK micky... I know you have ben waiting a LONGGGGGGGGGG time... hopefully your processing will speed up :)

thank you mabrouk. as os june 21 my case is finally at the national visa center.i am so excited i can see the light in that long tunnel now lol.and i got a letter from the president telling me he has contacted the homeland security to find out why it was taking so long. last week i got a letter from the vice president. so if you are having troubles email everyone or write letters to everyone you can .. it helps

You know occasionally the President will answer his own mail and messages. I have a friend that is married to an Algerian. She was raised by her grandmother because her mom died in an car accident. One summer my friend, her husband and son went to Algeria and stayed about a month and they were having so much fun that they never checked in with the grandmother. The grandmother became worried and called the White house and left a message saying her granddaughter and family went to Algeria and she has not heard from them and she was worried. One day Mrs Peggy got a call and it was President Bush himself. He told her he understood how our children make us worry about them and that he would contact the Embassy in Algiers and let her know something soon. A day later, she received another phone call telling her that they had located them and they were all well and enjoying their vacation. Needless to say they never neglected to call her again.

omg i can't even imagine!!! I'll keep that in mind when my kids miss curfew once they're older. Can you imagine being a teenager makin' out in the backseat of your car way past midnight and "ring ring"..."aaaaaaaaaaaaah...is this Emily?......this is President Bush....you are surrounded by secret service and you'd best get that boy up off you and get home to your mama!!!!"

It's been really tough at times because we only get to see each other for two weeks out of the year. I used to do alot of volunteer work to keep myself busy when I wasn't working. But now that our son has come along, time seems to speed along faster than I would like it to. But the closer we are at really getting resolution to this whole nightmare and bringing him back home....I feel like I could just SCREAM!!!!

This is a very odd situation. Did you tell Cairo at your interview that you had already gotten married legally and filed for a marriage based visa? From my understanding, you cannot get a fiance visa after you've been legally married.

my husband had the interview and didnt tell them we were married . but they know because i sent them emails stating that.they should knowanyway we are registerd and they keep going with the fiancee visa. eithier they are dumb or just plain lazy to look it up

Interviewed for a fiancee visa but didn't tell them that you were married??

Do you understand that this is misrepresentation, and it would have been visa fraud if he had actually received the visa and tried to enter the US??

You may hear something soon, but you may not like what you are going to hear. You should seek the opinion of an experienced attorney before you guys try a second interview. If they realize that he actually interviewed for a benefit that he was not entitled to, and misrepresented himself, that this equates to a lifetime ban.

Good luck on this one..

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.
