hi, any document that is not in english must be translated in english.they won't accept the short form birthcertificate, only the long birthcertificate.that has more information on it,original certificate, not a copy.

You will need a long form that states your parent's names.

Thank You for the reply

Why didn't she take all of that back home with her??? Did you not get 2 copies of your marriage Contract from the Adoul???? We got 2 copies they both had stamps on them I kept one and my husband kept one. You will need the long version of your birth certificate, copies of your ID and passport and she will need passport pics of you. I forget how many. All papers that are not in english need to be translated.... And everything must be translated by an approved translator....

if you can go to rabat to get the translated copy certified by the embassy it would help. I had issues here in the USA trying to change my name because it was not certified by the embassy. It is better to do it just in case.

I can not help you there because I dod not do it and I got my name changed in the end. They told me if I have it certified by the embassy it would have been a lot easier for me. I am not sure where to tell you to go but I remember a friend telling me to do it in Rabat and I didn;t listen. It all depends on where she lives in the USA because I have had friends who live in small towns have difficulty and those who lived in larger cities not have difficulty. The social security and drivers license was easy it was changing my name at the bank where I had issues. But I live in Dallas so they were used to immigrants and foreign country paperwork. So I say it is better to do it because once she is back here it will cost more money to go back there to do it. Hope this make sense :D

I would get it translated in your city and then take the arabic certificate and the translated certificate to get certified together. Also while she is there get your birth certificate the long form that has your parents names translated and take about 5 passport pictures and send those with her. Once she gets to the states have her join this forum and ask questions about filling out the forms and what proof to send with the package. It is very easy to do just a lot of paperwork.

Best of luck and mabaruk on the marriage :D

it does not matter if it is k1 or cr1, the long form birth certificate is required, no exceptions
