Once the I-130 is approved, how long does it take to get through processing at the NVC? I applied for my husband who lives in Turkey and I am in Istanbul with him to wait for the visa but don'd have any idea of timing. There is a large age difference between us and I'm afraid we won't get approved because of that issue. He is younger than I am. We are happily married and the marriage is legitimate. How best do we prove this? Will the age difference hold up the processing time in the US or is it at the Embassy in Ankara where the questions are asked?

the 1-130 cr-1 visa centers now are all back loged. it could take 10 months to 12 months,he may have to answer a lot of questions since your a woman and much older the your husband at the interview,an show a lot of evidence of a on going relationship and a true loving marriage,if it was the other way around like the husband is older and the wife is younger, age should not matter, but some embassys ask,if you want children and etc,i wish you good luck,

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

NVC taking 10 to 12 months?

You can do your best to speed it up using the guides, but I would plan on it being at least 3 months to be on the safe side.

Your age difference has nothing to do with the processing up front. That will come maybe at interview. It's not always going to come up. It is all dependent on how you prepared your petition. If you covered everything and gave good strong evidence age difference may not even come up.

But your husband still should be prepared on questions like

1. Why would you marry a woman so much older than you?

2. Do you plan of having children?

3. Why didn't you marry someone from your own country closer to your age

All you can do is wait. It's like the service centers have shut down. Stay positive and Hopeful.

it will take between 9 to 12 months and of course you should be ready to prove your marriage is real. I have a couple o firends here in visajourney who has been denied because of their age difference. Gather all the prove you can get starting now. Good luck
