Hi everyone,

Does anyone here know/experience processing temporary residence visa under sponsorship of live-in caregivers program in Canada? I am currently a J-1 visa holder and planning to move to Canada after my 2-year contract here. I wanna process my TRV for Canada here in New York but I don't have any idea how long is the processing time. I appreciate everyone's answers and advises. Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately we cannot give you that kind of advice as on Visa Journey, we all have immigrated to the U.S., which has nothing to do with immigrating to Canada. You will have better luck on this website: http://www.roadtocanada.com/forums/index.php. Good luck.

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

The best place to check is the Canadian Government Department of Immigration website at http://www.cic.gc.ca When the page loads you can select either English or French. In the menu to the left are a series of 'options', one of which is processing times. Click on that, and then from a pull down menu select the Live in Caregiver programme. Here is the direct link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-ec.asp Apparently processing times are currently taking 32 months.
