Otherwise, it's a coincidence since one issue - the reinstatement of the DL which is a state issue - has nothing to do with the other - that would be the re-opening of the immigration case which is a federal issue. And here we've come full circle back to the point that your insistence that something's foul here points to you thinking that there must be a conspiracy. The dots aren't connected. The state matter and the federal matter are separate. The only way they are connected is through a conspiracy. So by connecting the dots, you are alleging a conspiracy. That calls for tin foil. So go and get it. Lots of it.

Are certain ppl who have connection with powerful ppl getting special prefernce are they above law coz they are connected with powerful ppl is the question.

Yes, many people who have connections with powerful people have gotten special treatment. I don't think this should be a shock. It's the history of any government around the world... and, it's not just the governments, it's other organizations too, like the World Bank, who gave Enron special treatment around the world. Remember Enron?? Ken Lay?? Good buddy of George W. Bush? Probably not! Or how about George W. Bush's brothers lobbying for business with the Saudis, Kuwaitis and Bahrainis while W was president? People should be more worried about a huge corporation stealing lots of money from the public, rather than worried about a single individual getting a break that hardly affects anyone. But people like to focus on the small stuff...

I'm sorry but you are again failing in comprehension. I think I've agreed on the broader point that not everyone is equal before the law early on in this thread. That's common knowledge. What I fail to see, however, is that there is any evidence whatsoever that this man has benefited from being a relative of the President. What I am saying is that to believe that this individual was afforded special treatment is to believe that the state and federal government conspired to cut him slack in the jurisdiction of both simultaneously. Short of any evidence being presented, I do not see why I should subscribe to that conspiracy theory.

His younger brother is an American citizen. His parents were illegal immigrants, deported to Bangladesh and India. For two years, Yves Gomes, who spent all but 14 months of his 17 years in Silver Spring, lived in limbo, wondering in which direction his path lay.

On Monday, it looked like Kolkata.

Late Tuesday, he began to think it might be College Park.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement granted him a rare last-minute reprieve. His deportation to India, scheduled for Friday, was put on hold. He could pursue his stalled application to the University of Maryland.

This guys deportation was held back based on the DREAM ACT see the second portion of the article... he has passed high school with 3.8 and no criminal record.

I never said there was conspiracy… it was Mr. Big Dog trying to dismiss the whole thing under conspiracy theory.

All my post I insisted that it should be looked into if the officials working case this case were able to do it freely or there was some kinda pressure or they made certain decision expecting a favor in return from administration.

Other thing is drunk driver in most cases have legitimate DL, in this case first place he should not have a DL at all…

I would be surprised if re-instating officer even checked if this guy can even have DL or not in first place before reinstating it.
