If you are on a K-1 track you are a long way from US citizenship

However, once you have your Advanced Parole doucment, your green card or your US passport, you may travel outside the US. Until you have one of those, stay put

good luck

have AP or greencard in hand? you can leave the USA for a visit.

how long? depends , really.

figure 20 seconds if coming in on an IR-1/CR-1/2/IR-2/5 visa or

110 days past filing for AOS WITH AP/EAD.

0 days if only have green card.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Can anyone tell mw how long you must wait in order to leave the US to visit family once you have been approved and are a perm US citizen?? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

I noticed from your timeline that you have filed your I-129F petition, that is a good start.

BTW: You sent your petition to the Lewisville, TX lockbox location, not the Texas Service Center. The Texas Service Center does NOT process I-129F K-1 petitions. When you get your Form I-797c (NOA1) petition acceptance notice, you will get a receipt number. The prefix of that receipt number will start with either EAC (Vermont Service Center) or WAC (California Service Center). If you correct your timeline to the correct service center, the VJ site will generate an estimated approval date for your petition (NOA2).

Happy trails on your visa journey.

Merry Christmas!

You are NOT going to be US citizen for several years.

Once you get your greencard you are a legal permanent resident. You can leave whn you have that card.

If you file for AP (I-131) with with your AOS (i-485) then you can travel using that as well (as long as you don't have overstay).
