i have an aunt, she is retired now... she lives on her retirement check, dont know how much it is, but she gets it monthly, dont know if she files taxes or nothing. but wonder if she can co sponsor even though she dont work.. not sure how to prove her retirement, maybe just showing the history and the monthly deposits.

She should be filing taxes, I know my mother does.She also receives monthly statements even though she has direct deposit.

so she would just submit her taxes from past three years (or transcripts).. and like past couple months statements, and maybe showing the bank deposits you think?

You should start by determining if her income is enough to be a co-sponsor

is there some kind of process you have to go through to get a co-sponsor approved? my mom is going to be my co-sponsor, and we have all the requirements (IRS transcripts, pay stubs, employment letter), and she has a high enough income to be eligible, but do i just send her info in, or do i have to make it clear she's my mom, or how does it work? i would hate to send those things in just to have them sent back for not being mine.

my father was my co sponsor and they will require all the paper work taxes and w2s etc...but also one thing they dont tell u in advance is they will want proof of the relationship between u two since it is your mother so I used my birth certificate to prove the relation that will work for u as well
