As far as I know, it is the Embassy's responsibility to print out the visa, attach it to the passport and mail it to the beneficiary.

It is best to contact the US Embassy directly if you want specific answers to your case. Good luck. :innocent:

You've got to hang-in there Ron. I seem to remember that Sveta was put in AP and then she corrected the problem by sending-in the document(s) Kiev requested. All of this will seem trivial once Sveta joins you in the US. I admire your persistence.

also should kyiv embassy network go down for what ever reason is it reasonable to assume visa would not print ?

Never heard of this happening snce I've been on VJ. If true, I'm sure it is a temporary problem. Keep emailing Kiev for clarification while you wait for the good news.

Most of your questions are not hard to figure out, but first this is not political form so I will refrain from going on a long rant, paying taxes or not the government lies!!

Now on to solving your resent question--- On the portals page it lists recent approvals, I looked at just one, Luyi & Iryna:

K1 Visa

Event Date

Service Center : Vermont Service Center

Consulate : Ukraine

Packet 3 Received : 2012-11-07

Packet 3 Sent : 2012-11-07

Now Sveta's interview was on 10/24/12 and for the most part you have been told her visa cannot be printed, the system/network is down. In the case above her interview was on 11/26/12, received her visa on 12/03/12 and entered the USA on 12/09/12. So anyone who says the system is down, is not telling the truth, or as Gary said it "blowing smoke up your tailpipe". Just so there is no doubt:

Ashley & Zhenya

Interview Date : 2012-11-26 Submit Review

Interview Result : Approved

Second Interview

(If Required):

Second Interview Result:

Visa Received : 2012-12-05

US Entry : 2012-12-08

Marriage : 2013-01-12

This research took me 2 minutes to figure out the "System/network" is NOT down.

I joined this site for the tremendous amount of knowledge and personal experience that is available here. I would much rather take a hard does of reality and the truth, than be lied to and strung along. You opted for an attorney, who by the mistakes that have been made, does not know what he/she is doing. I hired a visa service to do my petition and then found this site. Then came the advise and knowledge from others. So while missing Alla I put the time to good use--- making sure I had done everything right, I started reading EVERYTHING I could regarding the K! process, embassy requirements and USCIS instructions on EVERY form needed. I found for the interview the visa service had neglected to complete some forms, but I discovered this months before the interview.

You had been in the process for about 2 months and were asking questions about the interview in a post, I sent you a private message on this site and basically gave you a step by step of what I did, what to expect and advise on speeding up the process as much as you could. I give you the links to the web site of the embassy in Kiev regarding what would be required by them, this included the links to the Instructions for K Visa Applicants (PDF) and KEV-1 Form (PDF). On the Instructions for K Visa Applicants (PDF)form, Item 2 BIRTH CERTIFICATES: You must submit an original of birth certificate for each person named in the petition and who is applying for a visa.---

I felt it my obligation to research and make sure I had everything we needed for the petition and interview, Alla's English was not that good and she was dependent on me to get her and her daughter here. I used the Instructions for K Visa Applicants and KEV-1 Form as checklist (which is recommended at the top of the page) to ensure I had what they required, I can't tell you how many times I read these forms over and over again, but we also had everything at the interview that was required. Yes questions came up and if they were not answered here I got the answers from other sources such as emailing the embassy.

One time I put a post up, sniveling about the process and such. Yes I got some pats on the butt and well wishes, but Gary & Alla gave me a dose of fact and reality which kinda slapped me in the face--the way I read it-- and I was a bit butt hurt- :crying: -but it was the truth and it made me think. I also had some problems that were not answered and I sent a personal message to Gary and got the direction and answer I needed. No one knows everything, but Gary & Alla have a lot of personal knowledge and have been here on this form for a long time, if you doubt something that ANYONE posts, then you need to find out what is the truth. I get a kick out of some of Gary's posts  and maybe I am a bit off, but they are HONEST! I would much rather get a hard dose of the truth and reality than a whole lot of fluff and B/S, but to each his own.

You can blame who you want, your lawyer or?? But she did not have her original birth certificate at the interview; which is clearly required; which put the petition in AP status. My dad had a saying: "You have made your bed, now you have to lay in it" Eventually it will be approved if this was the only reason it was put into AP, but how long it will take--NO ONE can or will tell you. You might want to read this post from a fellow Texan, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350058-a-nightmare-from-kyiv/, he was not even told why his fiancee was put into AP. He did everything you are dong and more, but eventually she was approved. I told the truth and hope you do not feel I was rude--- Good Luck

AP is an investigation. They do not disclose the nature of the AP, what is being investigated or why (if any) reason. To anyone. Not a Senator, not a representative. The best way to avoid lies in this matter is stop asking questions. NO ONE willgive you an honest direct answer because they cannot. Being that they are politicians they need to give you SOME answer and hope it is good enough for you to vote for them.

Some corrections.

She applied at the CONSULATE, not the "embassy"

BOTH the consulate AND the Embassy are the Department of State, (DOS)
