I know that this is thinking wayyy ahead of when my interview date would be, but I sent all my supporting documents of a evidence to the filing center. I did not think of what would happen when interviewed! There are some documents that I cannot get again (i.e phone call documentation) Is there any way they give those papers back or send them to the appropriate interviewing place??

p.s. And I know I should have photocopied some stuff..

What can I do now?

Whatever you sent in with your application will get forwarded to the consulate BUT it is always good to have copies and what not should they lose anything on the way (not that they will but all is possible).

Any advice you will read here will tell you - always make a copy of the whole package. How come you cant get phone call documentation and other things ?

Let's hope nothing gets lost on the way and you will be fine :)

GC received on the 28th of February, 2014 - no interview, no additional RFE's

Divorced as of September, 2014

NOA1 for ROC 14 October, 2014

Life goes on, my ex-husband is a moron.

Hello fellow VJer,

1st thing don't panic.Your Entire file will be sent to the embassy,so I believe nothing will be lost. As to the Originals that you are worried about,if you can contact the phone company they will be able to send you some records again;in some cases you can go online and print call records again. What other items are you worried about? tax forms/transcripts ? these can be requested again as well.

Also,at the end of the interview you may be able to ask for some documents back. I've even heard of where items where returned at the end of an interview. If i am wrong am sure one of the our knowledgeable VJ members will correct me.

Both parties need to keep a duplicate copy, as discussed on VJ numerous times. Good Luck on your interview.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

When we had our interview in CR they already had all the papers we had submitted. The process is notorious for losing paperwork so you may want to submit copies from here forward and keep the originals until you have the interviews. For now though, just focus on other ways of proving relationship. Costa Rica isn't one of the most difficult countries, but you will need a lot of what you submit now later on as well and it is always best to keep originals and have copies to hand over should you need to.

Thank you for all the responses.

The phone documentation I can't get because it was a phone company I used to have, as well as a phone number I used to have. That's the most I am worried about because it was months of calls and over 200 pages. Everything else I am pretty sure I can make copies somehow.

But hopefully nothing at all will get lost. Thank you again.

By the way, can you please give me some insight about what you and your spouse had to go through. Since we are dealing with the same country, I would love to hear your experience. I know we have different forms but are closely resembled. By the way, by your signature, it seems that your process was very quick it seems! I am jealous :)

My wife and I went through the same process you and your spouse are going through (CR-1).

As far as evidence at the interview, I brought a photo album of my wife and I, full of photos of the us during the many trips I made to C.R. I brought a record of phone calls from my wireless provider, and record of E-mails between us.

Read my Consulate review/experience in my timeline for more info.

Another thing, I agree with the VJ member who recommends you obtain duplicate copies of originals (with tranlations). This is very important, because when you reach your POE they WILL NOT :bonk: give you back your originals.

Also, I recommend your spouse wait until after you both have been notified of the interview, to obtain the police record (Certificado de Delinquencia). This form is only good for three months. Belive me,you don't want to show up to the interview and find out you have to go out and obtain a new one.

Good luck
