Fiance visa denied

For those few that made comments about the USA being hypricritical etc about prostitution and Victoria Secret, Playboy etc. Understand it is not a punishment for the fiancee but more of a protection. The Philippines #1 export item or product is its people to other countries for work or marriage. More times it is all legitimate work on Cruise Ships, Medical or Serving in homes etc. But there are many cases where people earn money by a third party to bring a woman or man to their home country i.e here in the US or Europe etc to be sex slaves. It is all real and sad. I worked as a volunteer at two Christian Orphanages in the RP where many of the girls were rescued from family due to being sold for sex labor. Of course the families more time than not are only told their son or daughter will be Hosts, Hostesses in Restaraunts or Maids/Nannies to only be sold into prostitution. It is all real and sad. I saw it first hand. Also keep in mind this happens often internally from poor provincial families. Their sons or daughters or going to Manila or Cebu to work in Restaraunts and will send back X amount monthly to their families. Then once again they are working in a bar for sex. They are torn as to not leave due to their family not getting money and then them being shamed to go back. It is sick but it all happens. Filipinos are raised to support their parents as retirement. Everyone should keep this in mind when venturing down the road of marriage with one. The old saying "you marry a filipina, you marry her family too" is so true in most cases. The OP needs to do a lot of soul searching as I am sure he is very hurt and confused by all of our responses. I feel for you brother. Just do your homework.

Prostitution is no more a valid method to avoid poverty than dealing drugs or running numbers.

The comment is directed primarily at posters claiming posing for pictures is prostitution. That's an obvious lie. They need to be called on their lie. It is also extreme hypocrisy. Pornography is legal here, it is legal there, and it is not a legal impediment to immigration. We are supposed to provide truthful immigration information on this forum and not let our moralistic blindness interfere in that.

LsnBigBear then chimes in with support for prohibiting immigration to the very child victims he claims to care so much about - children sold into sex slavery by their parents. Sure, that makes a lot of sense. Punish the child victims by disallowing immigration.

You can have your belief that your morals are superior, but it does not excuse you to turn off your brain and support injustice. I disagree with punishing child victims of sex slavery. You agree with it, apparently. I wouldn't be so proud of that position.

Boy, you do learn something everyday.

OP I would advise you to message the VJ members on this thread that are Filipino or reside in the Philippines because they have the 411 on what is going on in the RP (what is the cultural norm, what's acceptable and what women to be careful of). This will come in very handy if you decide to continue this relationship and want to make sure your lady is genuine. So don't take your fiance's, her family's or her friends' word for it because they can be trying to scam you or set up you up for a future with a woman worse than a she devil. If I were you I'd nip this relationship in the bud because admitting to prostitution, living in a city where the women are questionable or in a profession that is known to be a cover for prostitution is just too much...unless you don't care about such things.

Rlogan - nude pictures may not mean prostitution but for certain countries, even if legal, is a HUGE clue as to the character of the women involved. Some men are ignorant to certain things and need all the help they can get in helping them finding 'The One'.

Except you are wrong. Pornography is illegal in the Philippines under Art. 201 - Offenses Against Decency and Good Customs. Prostitution covers not just physical intercourse, but also any lascivious conduct under Art. 202. In addition it is illegal for 'The willful engagement, maintenance, control, or operation, directly or indirectly, of any lascivious exhibition of sexual organs or sexual activity, with the aid of a computer system, for favor or consideration.' The punishment for doing so is 6 to 12 years in prison, a fine of between P200k and P1M, or both.

In addition the US can block immigration on the grounds of 'Good Moral Character' of which any commercialized vice may be considered by the CO in charge of the interview.

rlrogan: Go live in the RP and find the many charities there to work for in any capacity. Then decide for yourself before slamming others that disagree with the process. THe CO's at the Embassy's are much better versed in detecting what may not fall into the criteria for approval. Once again I do not fault fiancee's in these cases. I want what is best for all humans. HOWEVER I do know that many are sent to other countries in sex trades of which I do not agree with.
