You NEED to have your Loomis reference # with you, before they will allow you into the consulate for your interview!!

We did not see this info anywhere. All we read anywhere was that you needed to be registered for Loomis. But, in actuality, you need your reference # as well.

The lady checking documents at the door had a huge stack of photocopied papers with instructions on how to get your Loomis reference #, because that freaking many people get turned away for not having it! (Us, along with everyone who was in line with us were turned away).

BE PREPARED. Have your Loomis reference # with you when you go to the consulate, or you will be TURNED AWAY!

All the best everyone.

This might sound silly but...what is a loomis reference#?? I will be going to montreal consulate and don't want to miss any steps

You have to register online (make an account)--They are the ones that deliver your visa to you---is the reference # that you get once you register. I'm still half asleep, lol so may not make much sense. Merry xmas

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Oh I see, when you want to create a new account it asks for "company name" is this where I put in my name?? and since I have to register in order to get a referrence number I have to click on "I ship regularly, I want to create a loomis account" correct? or "I'm a one time shipper. I'll use my Credit Card as payment method"?? which one should I click on? and do I have to register a credit card when I create an account?? since I didn't know what to put for company name I held off till I get an answer from you wonderful ppl.

Yes, you can register for this anytime.

Go to: https://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/ss_country_welcome

Then: "create account"

You'll need your passport # and expiry to do this. After that, select the option to register for loomis services.

This service is used for the Montreal consulate to mail your passport (with visa!!!!) back to you. You'll need the registration number if you want the Montreal consulate to let you in the building!

The instructions for this will come when you get your interview letter, BUT, as far as we could read, there was nothing in the instructions about bringing the registration number. (Only that you had to register).

Best of luck.

Hi I applied visitor visa before, so the website still have my reference ID, and showing the visa fees that I paid for the visitor visa. It seems I can not get a new reference ID, is that a problem ? Or it's just the same reference ID. Thanks, guys.
