Anyone out there seen what a RFE looks like?

Question to anyone who has seen an RFE:

What happens when you get an RFE?

Do you get an email notification? Does it ACTUALLY say "REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE" ?

Or does this only show up in a letter that's mailed to you?

I want to find out because I got this update ONLINE from USCIS 2 days ago and have no idea what it means:

On December 5, 2012, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

I called them and they said they mailed something to me, but didn't say what........

So I'm really confused right now. What's going on? Could this be an RFE ???

Was your alien number incorrect on your filing? If not, sounds like they changed it for some reason. It doesn't look like this was a show stopper, or else you would get an email saying your application is on hold.

Thanks for showing me that example email. That makes me feel better.

I really have no idea why they changed the ALIEN REGISTRATION NUMBER. I don't know anything about any alien registration number. I was under the impression that that's the number that shows up on the GREEN CARD. My K1 petition hasn't even been approved yet. It's too early to talk about GREEN CARD numbers....

I'm confused. It seems like no one has any idea what this message means...
