What a bunch of idiots. They have screwed your case up so bad they can't even keep up with it.

It will be interesting to see what they wanted to say to your husband and why they thought he was in the states. I am sure you will never know what really happened on this one.

Thanks for the update!!!

I have not seen you around and was wondering if you were getting anywhere with your process. Good luck on your going to the interview and hope you can get this straightened out soon.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Well...

This isnt a hiccup...

This is the result of the intent to keep my husband out of the country

at all costs. The poor man made only one big mistake in his life and

that was to overstay his visa.

The resulting onslaught of government beurocracy is destroying not

just his life, but the lives of his wife which would be me, and my two

daughters.

I am now on Prosac thanks to this, due to Major depressive disorder and

now panic attacks, I have chest pains and my daughters are trying to cope

with the results of all this.

our waivers were denied for lack of extreme hardship!!!!!!

Do you suppose for even one minute that this was the intent of the law

that congress passed.

our government and immigration system is out of control.

Very well said Mrs P.,

This is what happens when you try to make one agency responsible for preventing terrorist acts, handling national disasters, issuing visas, and passing out money to undeserving hurricane victims that refuse to work and take responsibility for their own unpreparedness.

Putting USCIS under homeland security was a stupid idea. It sounds great on the surface but monster government agencies have never been successful, and never will. These folks are so swamped they will probably never recover before the next president does a reorg. They call themselves responsible for homeland security and they don't even know where your husband is. They think he is here although they denied him entry. I know technically the problem was DOS but the USCIS people should know who is, and is not in the country.

I am so sorry for the impact this has had on you and your family. I can certainly understand the emotional consequences of waiting so long. The months that Lucero and I waited seemed like an eternity. I don't think I could have withstood the wait that you and your husband have been put through. The punishment they have placed on you and your husband is entirely too severe.

You are not alone Mrs. P. There are a lot of people out here following your case. Please feel free to vent. I don't think anybody could fault you for that. My heart goes out to you!!!

You know Sjoe,

its weird you should say that, because my house was completely flooded and most of the roof missing after hurricane Andrew but it never occurred to me to go to the government for help.

by the way, we are just restarting construction now after Wilma!!! Yes it really took this long :).

sorry about the rant, there are people on here with worse problems than us, they are just not so vocal.

Sigh...I am so sorry to hear your waivers were denied Mrs P. Then the interview letter and the damage to the home. How much more, right? I am glad to hear you are trying to get help to deal with depression and panick attacks. These are very serious.

I don't have much to offer that will really ease your difficulties and the impact to you and your family, but just know that there are people who care about you and hope for something positive for you soon.

I am sure that like me, you have weathered about a thousand hurricanes. You wait till the storm passes and they restore power and then you begin repairing your house.

I have never seen the taxpayers foot the tab for people to lay up in 5 star hotels and wait for the government to rebuild their houses. You can bet that the USCIS visa woes are on the very bottom of the priority list right now. The most important thing in America is getting these leeches off of the news each night.

I apologize to any Katrina victims that might be offended by this post. I am sure that there are probably some very sad stories out there. I just haven't heard one yet that prevents somebody from getting a job, taking responsibility, and either making a new life, or regaining the old one.

Katrina aint the first hurricane that ever hit the States and it wont be the last. These disasters can not be funded by the taxpayers. At some point you have to realize that if you don't pay your homeowners then you have serious consequences after a storm. If the government is going to put everybody up in a hotel and fix their house for them then there is no reason to pay for insurance.
