To britflit45,

Did you remember the fingerprint code number (1, 2, or 3)?

It should be '2' (Index finger, photo and signature). This is for EAD, Green Card, or ....

Within the 90 days of your second fingerprint, your CPR are likely approved.

Have a nice weekend,

Many thanks

I have a had an EAD/AP since April 2012 as has my wife who is a dependent I-485 applicant based on myself as primary application. The first biometric appointment we had was for the I-485 application in April. Both of us have had second biometric appointments in November (me Nov 19th /spouse Nov 28th).

My 2nd biometrics was Code 1.

Spouses biometrics was Code 2

What do you think? I am really pleased to hear 90 days so we should expect something by end of February? How confdent are you of that?

I have to say I am getting very frustrated, but realise I am not alone. I just don't understand why CSC takes so much longer than the other service centres.

Many Thanks for the insight and encouragement

To britflit45,

Code 1 is 10 fingerprint. It is an important part of your background check and determines admissibility for green card, which might be expired within 15 months. Your first fingerprint should be valid. It might be a mistake. You should receive the same code number.

Code 2 is index fingerprint, photo, and signature; and is for EAD, green card etc. Before receiving the green card, I-797 approval notice shows that some applicant may be required to report for biometrics processing (photo, fingerprint, and signature).

Code 3 is "Code 1 Plus Code 2."

By the way, a lucky EB-5 applicant received I-485 approval within 2 months in 2011. Other received an approval notice within approximate 4 months in 2012. It is not unusual to see the waiting period between 12 and 20 months. Each case is unique and depends on individual visa processor's load and speed.

Thanks again,

The first appointments in April were indeed both Code 1 (self +spouse). Our Nov appointments is where I had Code 1 and my wife had Code 2. Not sure what that means : is it that my wife is basically approved, but they are holding pending a background check on me as the primary applicant?

We have never had a biometrics for EAD/AP by the way - we are already here as non-immigrants for a while so I assumed the biometrics already in the system were used. All the biometrics notices related specifically to I-485.

To britflit45,

When an applicant files I-765 along with I-485, he might not be required to do the fingerprint for EAD. However, he might be required to do fingerprint(code 2) for renewing his EAD while his I-485 is pending.

One online blogger suspected the fingerprint code and called ASC before the appointment. The code was changed accordingly.

Regards,

Regards,

We hadn't applied for a renewal at that point (November) so it doesn't add up. I may try ASC, although I don't hold out much hope.

On Feb. 1, 2013, USCIS will collect a new fee of $165 from foreign nationals seeking permanent residence in the United States. Applicants will pay online through the USCIS website after they receive their visa package.

This does not apply to people seeking a green card through adjustment of status.
