Anyone ever gone through this? Finally got my passport back and I've just realized they have misspelled my fiancè's surname on the K1 visa! :crying:

I've already emailed the Consulate asking what I should do. Meanwhile, if anyone has experienced something similar, could you please tell me what we need to expect?

Thanks. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh.

Take it back to the consulate for correction, ASAP!

The Moscow Embassy said it wouldn't be an issue and it wasn't.

The Embassy in Buenos Aires said, at first, that it wasn't an issue; and soon after they requested the passport to stamp a new K1. blush.gif

OP- Wait for the consulate to reply to your email and follow their instructions.

Update. My fiance and I have been repeatedly emailing the Consulate to ask what we're supposed to do about the misspelling, but we've had no reply from them.

I am wondering: apart from the single entry into the US, am I ever going to need this K1 visa again? Will I have to submit copies of it for AOS, or only the I-94 will be required? In this latter case I assume the misspelling of my fiance's surname on my visa won't be that big of a deal, after all. His surname is reported correctly on the rest of the paperwork (which I'm assuming is inside the 'do not open' envelope).

Any thought about this? Thank you!

I forgot to say I'm the beneficiary and my fiance's surname is written (and misspelled) in the annotation field. Any feedback GREATLY appreciated, I'm planning to move in January and I'm pretty stressed out over this. Thank you :)
