I'd definitely apply to try to get it expedited. I'm not sure how you'd do that since you've already sent in the petition. Try posting on the MENA forums also, you might get some specific info from Egyptians there. Good Luck!

Spouse petitions are being approved pretty fast these days as long as they get transferred to the National Benefits Center or local USCIS offices. I don't know what you can do about submitting an expedite request since you already sent in the paperwork. Maybe someone who has done it successfully can comment? Though I have dug through this forum to find people who tried to expedite for their spouses in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and so far as I can tell have not been unsuccessful.

It's totally understandable for you to be concerned but your husband is an Egyptian. It's still his country and he can probably manage himself better than you think, just like my fiance can manage himself in his country which is equally effed up. The constant worrying will exhaust you and yet get you nowhere, as it had done to me.

I wouldn't say oh why would you wait 2 years - now you can apply for an IR-1 petition which means he will get the permanent green card and not have to remove conditions. This is a good thing. Hope your petition gets approved quickly - all us K-1'ers are still stuck waiting 7 months.

Edit: I see others above me posted info on how to expedite over the phone. No harm in trying! Let us know how it turns out.

It's just normal.

It's only been happening for a few months and those people that it happened to in August/Sept/Oct have gotten some really fast approvals.

But as time goes on and petitions build up, the time should naturally increase as well so giving you an accurate time frame isn't that possible.

quick question just outta curiousity, do the petitions that get sent to the NBC might get approved faster or just take as long as the others??

It's the same thing that I just said above.

They have been approving fast, but as time goes on, no one can guarantee that they will continue to be fast.
