Is a 19 year old mature enough to make a marriage decision?

Pot, please meet kettle.

Is matako mature enough to post here? Maybe a new poll theme :P

If you've decided to marry her, I wish you the best of luck!

I was 18 when I started living with my fiance(i'm 21 now) and decided to get married. He was only 21 and we've been together since 2003. Most of my friends don't see themselves getting married this soon, and that's fine because I honestly don't think they'd make it  . But I believe I'm ready for that and the 2 years we lived together proved me right. I know there's a lot more to come and a lot more to learn, but we'll learn it together, just like any other couple of any age.

Oh, and I'd always choose the k1 route over the k3. But stick around, do some research and see what fits your plans better.

OUR COMPLETE TIMELINE

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!

--- Wish us luck!!! ---

I think am more than mature to post here and if you doubt it, then its because you married too young, a problem which is too late to fix.

The cryptic name-call for a person one does not agree with on this site is the word TROLL. Is the use of this word on this site not misplaced?

I don't doubt your maturity and strong feelings for your girl, but please just wait and let her grow up some. Please, I know from EXPERIENCE that the odds of this marriage working are well, just listen, please:

A certain man was stricken with a very physically debilitating and painful illness. He felt pain from head to toe constantly and the Doctors were not able to find a cure or ease the constant pain. The man grew so depressed and felt defeated by the pain, that he put a gun to his head one day and pulled the trigger.

Well, he didn't die in this suicide attempt. Instead, miraculously the bullet entered the part of his brain that triggered the painful disease he had. So miraculously he was cured of the pain and only left with a few physical scars from the operation to remove the bullet.

So, does this mean that others who suffer from conditions like this should try a bullet to the brain suicide to see if they get "lucky" and hit just the right spot to cure their pain? No, of course not. The odds of what happened to this man are ridiculously slim...one in one trillion!

What I am trying to say is that the odds of a 16 and 19 year old committing to a lifelong marriage in 2006 are just as ridiculously slim...one in one HUNDRED trillion!

Wait and gain some experience in life. Travel, fulfill some goals, enjoy YOUR life first before inviting in a lifelong partner. OK...please listen to me.

No Majizee - oops, Matako. It's not misplaced because it's not about a person one does not agree with on this site. It's about the fact that you don't have a "fiance" in Ukraine/Mozambique/Ubekistan and therefore you have zero credibility on this site . . . not to mention your continual nasty and offensive posts . . .

Run along now TROLL you're not welcome here

This marriage is doomed. I think teh girl and her parents just want her to come to America. At 16 years old she has not even been to college. He wants sex, and the girl wants to come to America. Its called barter trade. Lets see how long that lasts once she gets to America and starts second guessing herself, given all she sees here. You need to wait, focus your energies on school and getting a life long trade and skill and let her mature. However strongly you feel, you will likely look back and regret years down the line because things are not always how they look like all the time.

Kitkat I have not offended anyone;please stop giving me undeserved credit. I post here like everyone else, and am mindful not to hurt anyone. If you cant put up, its not my fault.

Wrong. A troll is someone that everyone agrees on disagreeing with. It's a fake that no one takes seriously.

I like your posts most of the time though.... it makes me laugh because they're always so over the top. You don't get to me, you entertain me :P

I take offense to that. You don't know me. You don't know my feelings towards her or her feelings towards me. Why would I marry a girl from Guyana just for sex? There are millions of girls here in NY that I can have sex with? My spirit just fell for her ever since I met her at my cousin's wedding a few years back.

You have got all the advice possible-some pleasant and some not so pleasant, the decision is yours.

Kitkat I thought you were smarter than that. Do you realize you are encouraging teenagers to marry?

Matako has a point here, I know from family experiance my sister and youngest brother married right out of high-school, one marriage lasted 6 months, and the other lasted 4 years, and broke up after the second child was born, they had not grown up and the boy/girl that they loved changed into the man/woman that they no longer knew. My other brother waited until he was 28 dated several women and found his wife, they just celebrated 10 years together, and are happily married.

See post from a few days ago in the ME/NA forum.
