How can I tell if my fiance really loves me?

If you're asking this question, then it's the wrong question. The correct question is: "Do I love my fiancee?" If you doubt her sincerity, then the answer is no.

Not really. There are plenty of prople on here and other sites who love their spouses and get fooled.

There are many more who petition for a fiance/fiancee and AREN'T used just for documents.

10/30/2006: AOS approved without interview, greencard will be sent! :)

11/04/2006: Greencard arrives in the mail! :-D

... No more USCIS for two whole years! ...

How can I tell if she really loves me or is just using me to get into the US?

Surely if you have to ask.... quite apart from whether she's genuine... it sounds like there are doubts. Marriage is not something to enter into with doubts.

Larry, I understand personally your point. I was married to someone who had such a dark past with all the significant men in her life, she could never shake off her distrust. The relationship was not what I'd call real love. Of course I loved her, but without mutual trust the relationship never grew. Trust or lack of it takes on many forms - like driving. Some couples nag each other over the way they drive. With us, it seemed to permeate in everything - even questioning my motives when I'd tell her she was beautiful. I couldn't go through that again.

Whoa, sounds exactly like my ex, I could say "Wow, you look beautiful" she'd say "What the hell is THAT supposed to mean??"

But Charlie B, I agree with the others, In the very beginning I told my Fiancee that (for BS reasons) that we could NOT live in the States, I said we would have to live in the Philippines, She was very enthusiastic and said "We will live in the province and raise a field!" (visions of me plowing behind a caribou) So I felt pretty safe after that. Shucks whats the worst thing that could happen??

Plowing behind a caribou does have a noble appeal to it...but I'm thinking that would last me about 10 minutes and then I'd be crying for my comfy office chair. :P

If you love her then you need to know she loves you back UNTIL she proves otherwise. Once she proves to you or does ANYTHING to make you think shes only using you, then you should question your relationship. good luck

When she refuses to do anything to resolve any conflict within your marriage, when she disappears for hours at a time, doesn't tell you where she's been, or lies to your face about where she was...

When she stops sleeping with you, or giving you any kind of physical comfort, affection, tenderness or even passion, much less sex itself...

When she files a false DV report with the police, that luckily, you were able to defuse as "Domestic disturbance, no evidence of violence found by the investigative officers"...

When she bails out of the marriage taking about $12,000 in cash as "support" and disappears with it...

When she tries to file false insurance documents at your home address after she's moved out (perhaps to provide to the USCIS), and tries to hijack your bank account statements as well...

Hey... then I think you can start questioning the relationship....
