I'm sorry. I'm kind of new here and I can't find where to post this but is there any way for a Christian to get asylum in America if they live in an islamist country?

Why would you call me names? I'm new here and I didn't see anything about asylum in the other parts of this bored. I've been reading for a little while and I know yur suposed to ask questions in the right places. I'm sorry if this was the wrong place.

"Asylum may be granted to people who are arriving in or already physically present in the United States"

and

"You must apply for asylum within one year of your last arrival in the United States"

So this means he can't apply for it unless he's here already and i'm not sure how he'd get here unless we get the fiance visa but then he wont need asylum becaus he would be here already.

is there anyway we can get the fiance visa without meeting? i don't really want to go there and his family doesn't know hes Christian.

1. There are plenty of American Christians in Kuwait. We have soldiers all over there. They're not being killed.

2. It's different if a Kuwaiti converted to Christianity. But, he doesn't have to tell his parents. Plenty of muslim middle eastern men marry american christian women. If he's afraid for his life, then just don't tell them.

3. If you find wearing hijab (a headscarf) is required for your visit, it isn't the end of the world.

4. Traveling to the Middle East is an adventure. Give it a shot.

I know for a lot of people this is not an option or they don't want to...

But my father went with me to India to meet Sujeet. Do you have any supportive relative who would be willing to go with you so you don't feel as nervous about going to such a different country? I know many people went by themselves to foreign countries, but I am very glad my father came with me to make sure I was safe and secure. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one of VJ(at least that I know of) who actually brought someone with them to meet their foreign SO the first time. But it was fun.

i think thats the only way id be going over there. my dad works and hed have to get some time off but i know hed do it for me. hes offered to sponsor sami to bring him here because i dont work.

Well it's very good if your dad is supportive. My parents were supportive also and did not want me traveling that far alone (Sujeet didn't want me traveling alone either). Many people do not have that kind of support from family so it's a real blessing.
